+geoguyver Posted January 25, 2004 Posted January 25, 2004 Way random thought here this afternoon. If "they" were looking for a Hollywood Blockbuster about geocaching, what type of movie should it be? Action? Advenvture? Thriller? Drama? Comedy? Who should star in it? And any plot lines you would suggest? Quote
+harleycache Posted January 25, 2004 Posted January 25, 2004 Man, it would HAVE to be a comedy! Quote
inventorjg Posted January 25, 2004 Posted January 25, 2004 I think it would have to be adventure/comedy. And at the end, a gc logo!! Quote
+bons Posted January 25, 2004 Posted January 25, 2004 It's been done Hint: ybbx sbe gur tvnag j Quote
+CYBret Posted January 25, 2004 Posted January 25, 2004 The Saddest Markwell of them all Referenced here. Ugh...I wonder how the project is coming along. Bret Quote
+TeamK-9 Posted January 25, 2004 Posted January 25, 2004 You know, if I were to write the screenplay, I'd make it like a murder thriller... A guy kills someone and then sends cops on a multi/puzzle cache across the country finding clues and then eventually finding the body... Quote
Captain Chaoss Posted January 25, 2004 Posted January 25, 2004 Best to do as a buddy movie; a non-crude road trip. Plenty of practical jokes and good scenery. And some DIALOGUE. Do movies still ever have that without being total chick flicks ? Quote
+rover-r-us Posted January 25, 2004 Posted January 25, 2004 it would be a thriller.starring indiana jones. Quote
+TeamK-9 Posted January 25, 2004 Posted January 25, 2004 I still like the idea of like a Hannibal Lecter movie with Geocaching.. Quote
+JMBella Posted January 25, 2004 Posted January 25, 2004 This guy tried to right a treatment for a movie. It's the worst thing I have ever read. http://www.extremegeocaching.com Take a look. Have a laugh. This was also brought up here. To answer your question. It should be an action. Staring The Rock & Jennifer Garner. Al Pacino can be the bad guy. He'll play a NPS officer. Sean W. Scott can be the disgruntled ex-geocacher who is now a cache pirate. We need other parts filled. Anyone want to take a stab at it? Jeremy: Hydee: All the admins: The forum regulars: Quote
Captain Chaoss Posted January 25, 2004 Posted January 25, 2004 I wanna be Sparky in the movie, so I can drive his "new" Jeep. It needs roughed up some. Quote
+Lone Duck Posted January 25, 2004 Posted January 25, 2004 it would be a thriller.starring indiana jones. That's what I was thinking: Indiana Jones & The Lost Cache Quote
+TeamK-9 Posted January 25, 2004 Posted January 25, 2004 I read that "Extreme Geocaching" thing and I thought it was an interesting read, (not good enough for a movie) but I thought it was interesting. Until the end, that's just dumb... Quote
sarge76 Posted January 25, 2004 Posted January 25, 2004 I would say a "Horror" Movie or Thriller. When I began geocaching I was kind of freaked out b/c I kept picturing in my head that this could make a very interesting CSI or movie. Where the cache was located in some remote place where no one ever logged the cache b/c they were being murdered by some deranged person in the woods. Quote
+Sparky-Watts Posted January 25, 2004 Posted January 25, 2004 I wanna be Sparky in the movie, so I can drive his "new" Jeep. It needs roughed up some. Hey! I got dibs on first dent! You'll get your turn! I think it should be a movie like Helter Skelter, or Natural Born Killers....oh, wait...you said a movie about Geocaching? I thought you meant about the forums.....never mind. I think I should star in it, though. With Julia Roberts as my love interest and Sandra Bullock as the jealous seductress trying to get "my" cache. Quote
+rusty_tlc Posted January 25, 2004 Posted January 25, 2004 I think they were discussing the novel here. Haven't read it yet but it sounds like the real deal. Quote
