+fly46
Okay, so I was at my friend's house and looking through her family fun magazine when there was this article on some New England treasure hunting thing (Questing) and I was kinda reading it because, well, you know, I'm a geocacher, when this funny looking green box caught my eye. What did it happen to say? Well..... I've scanned it... unfortunately, this is all it said, but at least they said something, right? Not sure if the picture will show up here or not... If the picture doesn't show, click [link]http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/youropinion/vwp?.dir=/Miscelaneous&.dnm=geocaching+article+blurb.jpg&.view=t[/link] this link. +CWL
Heres the link For everyone else. Interesting... but I don't think I've ever seen a "Chunk of pyrite" (Whatever that is...some kinda rock I'm asuming) in a cache before. Been there... Done that... Quote Link to comment
+TeamK-9
This seems like another article where geocaching is slightly misrepresented. How often does anyone here walk away with pyrite or a digital watch (or at least one that's not broken) but I guess some incorrect publicity is better than no publicity at all... ---- Extra batteries for GPS, don't leave home without 'em. I guess you can say I've found a few digital watches before. Technically the only requirement for a digital watch is to have a numeric display not the analog dial. Even Mctoys sometimes are "digital watches". Been there... Done that... Quote Link to comment

I've seen both pyrite (iron pyrite, aka "fools gold") and good digital watches in caches. "Don't mess with a geocacher. We know all the best places to hide a body." Quote Link to comment
+Kite and Hawkeye
I leave pyrite (fool's gold) in caches sometimes. I've even got little pyrite pebbles for micros. You're on your own if you want a digital watch, though. Quote Link to comment

+sept1c_tank
I left a (kids) digital watch in a cache...running with the correct time. It was snagged by the next visitor. ==============="If it feels good...do it"================ **(the other 9 out of 10 voices in my head say: "Don't do it.")** . Quote Link to comment
+fly46
Well, I never said it was a good article, and it was put in a little paragraph with a six page articles about something else. Hey, at least they said something, right? I do agree, though, that McToys would be a little more accurate than Digital Watches. Quote Link to comment
