PaulAlberts
Hi This might be a stupid question. I am new at the geocache game and I need help with coordiante conversions. I have coordinates for a cache in Degrees_Minutes_Seconds and need to know how to convert this into the correct format to enter into the format required to enter it into this website deg_minutes,minutes. Can someone helpout. Thanks Quote Link to comment

+GlobalRat
Divide the seconds by 60 and you have decimal degrees, i.e 25 minutes and 30 seconds becomes 25.500 in decimal degrees. Quote Link to comment

If you have the coords in your unit in Degrees, minutes, seconds just change the format to Degrees, minutes, decimal minutes and it converts for you. You can also do the same with map datum. Just change the datum and it is converted for you. Quote Link to comment

I did this when I was starting out...very informative on the different datums: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...7-28B3B8967B18} Anyway, EraSeek provides a very good link on Map Datums on his cache page so go ahead and visit the page and check the link out.
