Nats Posted August 11, 2003 Posted August 11, 2003 ...and I don't even have a GPS yet! I was going to be picking up one for moose hunting this fall in northern Ontario (Canada) and in my recearch stumbled across geocaching. Finally an inexpensive hobby I was thinking of the Garmin eTrex Legend as a first/entry GPS. I do a fair bit traveling and hiking/hunting and was wondering if this would be the right unit to suit my needs. It seems like it but any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks Nats My Canada Supports US Troops!!! Quote
+Verboten Posted August 11, 2003 Posted August 11, 2003 You will find many happy owners of the eTrex Legend as well as many happy owners of any other Garmin or Magellan receiver here. Both companies make excellent products and I have used both brands. Really, it comes down to features and personal preference. I chose the Garmin because I preferred the form factor and the Legend because it seemed to hit the sweet spot for price and features (including PC cable). Best of luck in your purchase, -Vb Quote

+Verboten Posted August 11, 2003 Posted August 11, 2003 You're welcome. And if those are your criteria, I'm sure you'll be happy with the Legend. If you want to test drive one before buying, or just feel like going south of the border for a cache run, drop me an email. -Vb Quote

Nats Posted August 11, 2003 Author Posted August 11, 2003 Hey, if this cost me less than $100 CND every time I do it it will be alot cheaper than any of my other hobbies . I see what your all saying though and I will find a way to make this as expensive as I can as I am an accessorizing junkie. My Canada Supports US Troops!!! +Mark 42 Posted August 11, 2003 Posted August 11, 2003 Check this from time to time... they may get some in (it was sold out when I checked today) http://www.flyingjestore.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=ShowItem&item_number=4&product_code=EL259&sku=100 I hope that someday we will be able to put away our fears and prejudices and just laugh at people.
