+Beast of Traal Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 (edited) Where Do You like to eat while caching? Check out this new website to find out or offer suggestions. The site is still new and dosent have many places listed yet. GeoEating Edited January 21, 2004 by Beast of Traal Quote
+hedberg Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Some people do really combine eating & caching - they go to Pizza Eating Event Caches... Quote
+briansnat Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 (edited) I don't have the coordinates, but I give Rutts Hut 5 mustard stains. The best hot dogs this side of the sun...and they're deep fried in lard. How good can good get! For a close second, though an entirely different animal, there is The Hot Grill, which I give 4.5 mustard stains. Hot Grill makes the best Texas weiners anwhere. Period. Then there is the famed Hot Dog Johnny's, which makes a purty durn good dog, and I give them 3.5 mustard stains. Oh, and Rutts Hutt gets a bonus mustard stain, because they serve beer. Finally, there is A Taste of Reality Deli, which has been serving geocachers since 2001 (because a half dozen of my best caches are nearby). The place has even earned a few mentions in the cache logs. It's just under 528 feet from my house and I can enjoy sandwiches like The Full Monty (grilled roast beef, grilled onions, melted mozzarella, grilled hot and sweet peppers with horseradish sauce on a long roll), or the Rajun Cajun (pepper turkey, hot ham, pepperjack cheese, sliced hot cherry peppers, lettuce, tomato and chipolte mayo on a roll), or the Kinnelon Killer (grilled roast beef, melted cheddar, fried onions and russian dressing on grilled rye bread). Mmmmmm, I could go on, but I have to go get something to eat... Edited January 21, 2004 by briansnat Quote
+carleenp Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 (edited) Well, if I am not bringing food with me, I like to stop at Chipotle. Quick burritos and tacos. Edited January 21, 2004 by carleenp Quote
goldfishy Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 FOOD??? WHAT'S FOOD??? Food is usually one of the last things on my mind when I am hunting down a cache! When I'm done for the day, all I can think of is coffee and hot chocolate! Hahahaha! Quote
+Mr.Benchmark Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Hey, what I cool idea! I added an entry for "Country Burger", a hole in the wall burger joint that serves up really good burgers and fries! It also happens to be close to this cache of mine, Rustic Park-N-Grab. Coordinates are on my cache page Quote
+stu_and_sarah Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 In the UK, many caches will have a recommended pub for food and drink on the info page. Apparantly this was seen as commercial by the powers that be until it was explained that's it truly a part of British culture, and not intended commercially at all. So... we usually eat at a pub while caching. And it's usually one recommended by a cache info page! Quote
+yumitori Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Whenever we cache in Coeur d'Alene, the evening is not complete without a visit to Tomato Street. Quote
+Kitch Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 ummmm...... I think its spelled "minnesota" Quote

+Woodbutcher68 Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 If nobody's going to McDonalds, then where are the McToys coming from??? Quote
+sept1c_tank Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 I usually just go under a bridge and find a little snack. Quote
+maleki Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Most any Taquiera - the smaller the better... Quote
Team GeoHoy Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 I like Subway and local eateries in towns we go caching in. Local places are great because you can't get their food in other places. Quote
martmann Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 If I go out at 4 am or so (my favorite caching hour), depending on how long it takes, I stop at McDs, on the way home. I love their breakfast food, can't stand any other crap from there though. Quote
+sbell111 Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 While I often just push through eating granola bars and drinking bottled water, I'll admit that if I stop, it's often at McDonalds. I'm adicted to their fries. Oh yeah, they have toys there! Quote

+Monkeybrad Posted January 26, 2004 Posted January 26, 2004 People eat while caching? We usually eat a big breakfast, and then stop for a decent dinner after the sun goes down and we have decided we are through or we need to switch to our night hunting gear. Rice Krispie treats and lots of water if you just have to eat something during the day, can't waste valuable caching time with something as insignificant as eating. Quote
+Jamie Z Posted January 26, 2004 Posted January 26, 2004 BoT, I like the new name. Next time I'm out and about, I'll try to remember to waypoint a restaurant or two in Memphis. Jamie Quote
+clearpath Posted January 26, 2004 Posted January 26, 2004 (edited) Before caching, a tall double no-fat cappuccino with a cranberry-orange scone (at Starbucks). After caching all day, forget the food and go straight to the Miller Lite. Edited January 26, 2004 by clearpath Quote
+rover-r-us Posted January 27, 2004 Posted January 27, 2004 don't forget the pig skins with the beer Quote
ghOzt Posted January 27, 2004 Posted January 27, 2004 WARNING: Completely off topic post! Jamie Z, I just looked closely at your avatar. Until now, I always wondered what was up with the picture of you in front of R2D2! Okay, back to beer. Quote

+clearpath Posted January 27, 2004 Posted January 27, 2004 Here's the full size. It's not R2D2, but instead the entryway to a business. Yeah, but isn't that R2D2 on your head??? Quote
+Renegade Knight Posted January 27, 2004 Posted January 27, 2004 Whenever we cache in Coeur d'Alene, the evening is not complete without a visit to Tomato Street. Excellent. I hope to be up that direction come March. Quote
weRlostNDwoods Posted January 29, 2004 Posted January 29, 2004 When we are caching in the area, we stop by The Beacon Drive-in, in Spartanburg,SC. The Chili Cheese A-Plenty cant be beat. A great place for a lube job for the body before hitting the trails. The Beacon Drive-In Quote
uperdooper Posted January 29, 2004 Posted January 29, 2004 before caching, no food. after caching, anyplace with good margaritas. Quote

+Geo Ho Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 I don't go out to eat after caching, I just come home and demand that Mopar prepare me something. Actually, there was a place near me called Duke's Smokehouse that was always a good after-caching eatery. Sadly, they are now out of business. I don't know how that could have happened . . . the place had the best ribs, pulled pork, brisket, cole slaw, mac-n-cheese, sweet potatoe fries imaginable. (sigh!) Oh well . . . happy caching and stuff! Quote
+Beast of Traal Posted March 2, 2004 Author Posted March 2, 2004 I have just add map links to Geodiningand there is a GPX file available for download. it should be compatable with Watcher, GPX Spinner, EasyGps and GPS Bable. It is not compatable with GSAK When using the file keep in mind that difficulty refers to Price Range terrain refers to service level. the cache type is listed as Unknown. Geodining.com Quote
+shunra Posted March 2, 2004 Posted March 2, 2004 People eat while caching? Same here - I like eating out when I'm with geogrumps, but when caching, I cache as much as I can, and never feel hungry. I will, however, try to make a point of mentioning place to eat that I enjoy on my own cache pages, or even on a Find log, every now and then. Quote
+15Tango Posted March 2, 2004 Posted March 2, 2004 If we really are what we eat, then I'd be fast, cheap, and easy, especially if I actually stop to eat while caching. Famous Dave's BBQ or Fuddrucker's always works for a bite after caching, though--If I can't find one of those, anyplace with beer works. Quote
+Beast of Traal Posted July 15, 2004 Author Posted July 15, 2004 The geodining website has just got a major face lift. and has gone international. There are now menus for each contenent and each restaurant listing is now on it own page. Geodining.com I hope that geodinnig can now serve the global geocaching comunity Quote
+GeoCyclist Posted July 15, 2004 Posted July 15, 2004 Eating is a waste of good cache time. I eat in the car while driving home. At the same time one of the better caches I found in MS ended up at a local resturant by a lake. Had a good meal there and enjoyed the local cuszine. Quote
Team GeoHoy Posted July 15, 2004 Posted July 15, 2004 Well, if I am not bringing food with me, I like to stop at Chipotle. Quick burritos and tacos. I 2nd that. I wish they had them back east. I might open up one when I move back to DE. Quote
CoyoteRed Posted July 15, 2004 Posted July 15, 2004 We like eating at the little mom-n-pop places while we are out about. One little place the proprietor was also the major! We got plenty of history and juicy gossip with our meal! The burgers were some of the best I've put in my mouth to boot! Quote
+greengolftee87 Posted July 15, 2004 Posted July 15, 2004 12v to 115v inverter for car + mini george foreman grill = grilled cheeese anywhere you want Quote

I'm pretty sure that the only group that ate on the cache-n-dash were the people doing the 24 hour run.. My car had two apples each and about 11 ELFudge cookies to split amongst us. At one point we got M&Ms minis - which explode if left in a hot car - but that was more for micro containers than for anything else. lol. I did, however, get McDonalds on the way home, and I have no recollection of actually tasting the burger. I'm pretty sure I ate it in 4 bites. Quote
