Grinelle Posted January 20, 2004 Posted January 20, 2004 Hello All! Including this particular post...I have a grand total of 5 postings; none of them flaming/offensive/obnoxious or "spamilicious". Can anyone fill me in on what this warning meter is for; and why I am seeing one (at 0%) with my avatar/sign-in name? Call me perplexed ! Thanks for helping. Sincerely, Grinelle Quote
+TeamK-9 Posted January 20, 2004 Posted January 20, 2004 Only you and the mods can see it. Let's call it a teaching tool... If you get rowdy, it goes up, and up, and up, but once again, you're the only person who can see it... Quote
+wildlifeguy Posted January 20, 2004 Posted January 20, 2004 Just checking your radioactivity level. You seem ok if your at 0% Peace! Quote
+CYBret Posted January 20, 2004 Posted January 20, 2004 Yep, everyone's got one...just like water buffaloes. Bret Quote

Sincerely, Grinelle Your reputation preceded you! Apparently, the mods knew you were coming so they attached the 'warning meter' to you in advance. One bad post and out you go ... Or forget everything I just said and realize that everyone has the 'warning meter' and only you and the mods can see it. Quote

+Renegade Knight Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 You have one so you can be warned. Consider it a locationless cache. The goal is to get warned but not actually have the post that you got warned over edited. Quote
+crzycrzy Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Mine is at 95% I think that when it gets to 0 you can't post anymore. Okay, just kidding... It's the oppposite. Get to 100 and you're toast ! Quote
+hedberg Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 (edited) I just to have 10% warning but it has now been reduced to 0%. Darn, I just wanted to be someone really special.. I don't want to be like the mass... I woke up this morning and started to sing "Baaaaad to the bone", looking cool. Then I read a message that I'm a really nice guy and therefor is my warning level reduced to nothing... From that momemt stopped my singing of that tune... I don't know what to sing.. I took off my cool sunglasses, leatherclothes and boots. I returned the Harley to the shop. Now I'm just a plain guy from Sweden without a cool attitude... Please please please - can't you warn me again so I can become a bad guy again? It really attracted bimbos... Edited January 21, 2004 by hedberg Quote

Get to 100 and you're toast ! actually nothing happens auto when you get to 100% its up to the mods. How do you have 95% warn when you only have 80 somthing posts, how bad are u Quote
+hedberg Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Is it possible to get negative warning meter? Instead of +10% warning you can get -10% (meaning that you are more nice than the normal cachers)...? Quote
+crzycrzy Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 If it were possible, I would vote for you. You are the best ! Quote
+wildearth2001 Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 mine is, and always has been at 0% Quote

+wildearth2001 Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 how do I get into see the image once its uploaded. Although I am a web designer I find that part of the site kinda confusing Quote
+wildearth2001 Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 When the mods browse the forums do they see everyones warn meter all the time or must they click a link or select to see it from a menu next to their warn thingi Quote
+Renegade Knight Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Mods can see your warn meter. The properties gives you the URL of the image. If you plugged into your browsers address you would see the image. Or you can use the image function of the UBB code to insert it into your post. Quote
+wildearth2001 Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 thanks for the help with the URL i get it now i think. I know they can see it but must/do they always? Quote
+Renegade Knight Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 thanks for the help with the URL i get it now i think. I know they can see it but must/do they always? If they couldn't see it all the time it wouldn't do them much good as a tool. For one thing they need to know what the other mods have done with the warnings. That way if it's your first time they can be nice, explain the rule and call it good. On the other hand if you had a 90% level and deserved banning for awhile because you keep SPAMMING they need to see the past history to know you need a break. Quote
+haggaeus Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 On some discussion sites, like SlashDot, you get "karma points" for your activity: positive for helpful / informative / insightful / humorous postings, and negative for flame or troll posts. Here you can get Warn points only. Quote
