+Nebrcacher
No, I'm not the seller. I just wonder what you guys think. See it here. Quote Link to comment
+GeckoGeek
I just wonder what you guys think. In a word: Lame. No mention of GPS upload/download, nor GPX import/export. Quote Link to comment
+Allen_L
If I was going to try it, I would get the demo copy from the author's site instead of via ebay. I found the URL via google. http://www.rb59.com/geoc/ But since it's home site doesn't mention GPX, I will not spend the time to download and try it. +Sparky-Watts
Just wonder if he's suggesting he has the copyright on the Geocaching name, the sport, or just the software by that name.......yeah, looks pretty lame to me, too. Quote Link to comment
+tirediron
Totally, completely, mind-bendingly lame. No support for any standard file-formats, and, judging by the # of bids, that's the popular opinion. i-cachehas far more functionality, lots of cool skins and is FREE... let me think about the choice... This looks a lot like an Access database front end... Quote Link to comment
+geospotter
Would I buy it? No. But people buy millions of dollars of software that I consider lame. So, I won't fault the guy for trying to make a buck. It probably looks a lot like Jeremy's first attempt (and look what THAT has turned into). +RobRee
looks alot like my first attempt at MSoft Access. cheesy, but does the job. i guess the guy deserves 3$ for a quick little datatbase. you could do the same in access or excel in minutes. i put all my data in a quick sheet on pocket excel. works fine. robree Quote Link to comment
DiverMan
I agree with tirediron. I-cache is a cool tool and it's free. You can import GPX/LOC files and you can attach pictues as well. Not to mention you can customize the skins. Quote Link to comment
+Team BlackZ
i agree with geospotter, guy's just trying to make a buck. Nothing wrong with that! Quote Link to comment

+GeckoGeek
Look at the author's other auctions.... HEHEHE An entrepreneur has it start somewhere. I don't blame him for trying, but I pity the person why buys it. Quote Link to comment
+RobRee
he's the "KING" of all cheesy databases!!! Quote Link to comment

I don't blame him for trying, but I pity the person why buys it. I somewhat blame him. His products are like snake oil of the new century. Utter crap, and evidently he knows it. (Just change the title). Seems he is doing ok with 185 feedbacks. Quote Link to comment
+Sparky-Watts
ROFL!!!! Hey, I could use that Ghost Hunting Software, but only if it let me upload spooky images into it! Quote Link to comment

+GeckoGeek
You don't have to make a good product to dominate the market (ie Microsoft) No, you DO have to have a decent product. It has to be good enough to keep the general public happy. But it doesn't have to be a great product. You do need timing. He's too late with too little. Bill was in the right place, at the right time with the right answer. But before that, he did do a good job with MS Basic. Good enough to be noticed. Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
...Bill was in the right place, at the right time with the right answer... Windows was the answer to the Macintosh. That was an answer at the time. OS/2 was better, more stable, and in all ways but one the better product. That one was market share and so it lost. MS Office just hitched a ride on the Windows bandwagon and came to dominate the market. Not because they were better, they were 'ok' and at the time 'ok' was what you could get free with your new computer from every vendor. So yeah, you at least need 'ok'. I paid money for better software back then, and whats better now actually costs less than the MS products do. Free came at a larger price later. Even Office 97 products still dent the pocket book. Good enough to be noticed. He didn't do a job he bought and re packaged a product. BASIC was around before Bill, DOS was around before Bill. He is a great marketer and great business man but IT professional...ummmm. No. Sorry for derailing the thread. Quote Link to comment

Yes, BASIC was around before Bill, but he wrote Microsoft Basic and at that time was a decent product. Give the man credit for what he did do. Quote Link to comment
+wildlifeguy
OOOOO Access! I'm impressed. All that for only 2.99! Wow he has only 5 left. What are we all going to do?!?!? Can we share it or do you think we'll get busted for piracy. Seriously, If this was purchased, do you think he'll part with the codes so it could be made to accept GPX files, or waypoint downloads? If it's written in Access it shouldn't be too hard to add those things. It is all linked through tables, Right? Doesn't seem to be worth the effort when there are better, free, options out there. Peace! Quote Link to comment
+Halden
Only 5 Left!!! Where's my credit card? How can he have a finite number of software? Quote Link to comment
+Sparky-Watts
Only 5 Left!!! Where's my credit card? How can he have a finite number of software? He probably ran out of 5 1/4" floppy disks! Quote Link to comment
+bob393
What would you it that for? I have no use for it! Do you? Quote Link to comment
Neo_Geo
I'm going to buy the Geocaching, Recipes, Home Inventory, Ghost Hunting, Fishermans, Treasure Hunting, Comic Book Collecting, Coin Collecting, and the Baseball card collecting software! Somebody stole my Fishing Lure Collection, so I won't be needing that one. NOT! Quote Link to comment
gm100guy
Comes with free shipping world wide. Quote Link to comment

It is probably written in VB, because if it were written in Access then everyone would need the MSAccess application to run it. Quote Link to comment
