CurlyKrakow
Anyone from the Redding/Shasta County area want to have a cache event or go group caching? I come in and wander around the forums for the first time in forever, and lookee here what I find! Locals! Yay! My schedule is nuts most of this month, what with a 9-5 job, a PT evening job, and a work/rent trade that takes up most of my Saturdays. BUT.. come next month, I should have every other Saturday off and would love to meet up with some of my fellow cachers around these parts. It even gives me some extra incentive to get my pending cache ideas out in the field pronto. Also, I ran into the Kokopeli's in the field a few months ago and we tossed around the idea of an event cache for North Staters too (I know some folks in Chico/Paradise have done one recently). Might be fun to invite them up to try out some of ours or something. Just an idea. Please suggest others. Quote Link to comment
dzdiver
My wife and I would be interested in meeting other geocachers in the Redding area. Our schedules primarily allow for us to geocache and do events on the weekends. What are your thoughts? I talked with Big Bear a few weeks ago and he mentioned that he might try to organize some type of event. Quote Link to comment
cache_us_if_you_can
We're almost always free Wed's. Sun and Mon are my AM shift days, so we're free anytime after 2. Friday and Saturday are my PM shifts, so mornings are open. Tue and Thur are flexable. Given enough warning we can fit almost anything in. Get together at a pizza parlor and meet our fellow cachers? BBQ in the park? I'm open to any ideas. Quote Link to comment
CurlyKrakow
If daylight hours (to go caching, of course..) are any consideration, then Sunday afternoons after 3pm are about the only time I'm free. If we're just getting together for some grub or something, the evenings I regularly have off are Wednesdays and Saturdays, after 6pm. Quote Link to comment
KAYAK PHOTOG
I currently live in Washington state but get back to the Redding area a couple of times a year. I was raised in the Anderson area. Last time thru I stopped at a cache in Redding and have a few more to find next time down. I will occasionaly watch this thread and probably make some posts. I would like to meet cachers there or meet to find some caches if i am in the area. KAYAK PHOTOG Olympia, Wa. Quote Link to comment

cache_us_if_you_can
The best caches in Redding? I don't know about the best, but here are 3 of my favorites: 1. Hippopotamus Multi cache 2. Troll Trouble Micro cache 3. Turtle Bay Regular cache Have fun. If I can get the time off we'll try and make it to Oroville event. Quote Link to comment
Lazyboy & Mitey Mite
Give us southern oregon cachers a little advance warning and put it on a weekend and you just might get a few extra attending. Up here in the Rogue Valley we have a month Pizza event. We've been thinking about spending a weekend down there picking up some of your caches anyway. Quote Link to comment
cache_us_if_you_can
Thanks for the invite Escapades. After talking to Kokopeli and Where am I about attending your event I put in for the night off... we'll be there. After that we'll see about putting one on up here. How was your cache trip last week? +Escapades
We had a blast on our day trip to Redding area. We did a couple in corning and one in Tehama on the way up. We found 7 in Redding area. We met "Where am I" at the cache "Fore" and then did "Kids Kingdom" with them, I was the lucky one to fall in the creek getting to the cache, plus my boots filled up with water, but "Where am I" retrieved the key to "The Locked Nest Monster" and let our group tag along. It was a really fun day. Can't wait to head back up for more fun. Quote Link to comment
cache_us_if_you_can
Where am I was saying something about swiming in Cow Creek... not my first choice this time of year. Glad you had a good time up here. Anyone have "must do" caches on the way to Oroville? Looks like we'll have most of the day free for caching. Quote Link to comment
Escapades
You will have plenty of caches to find in the Oroville area. We "Escapades" have hid 20 caches in the Oroville area, plus there are quite a few others. In the Oroville wildlife area there are some good ones. Anything hidden by Buster 1 is usually a fun challenge. The favorite one we hid is http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...89-fc247a5f0e36 We look forward to meeting everyone coming from the Redding area. Quote Link to comment
cache_us_if_you_can
Interesting cache... we may try to find it while we're down there. Quote Link to comment
cache_us_if_you_can
We're fast approaching our 100th cache... anyone have any ideas which one it should be? Quote Link to comment
Team Cottengim
So I'm about a month behindon this thread. I propose a Friday evening pizza party. Nothing like pizza and beer when you meet people and put a face to a name. Quote Link to comment
cache_us_if_you_can
An event is in the works for the Redding area... Looks like three of us may be hosting a BBQ/cache day. We hope to have more details about it soon. Quote Link to comment
Escapades
If you have a cache event...We would have to be NUTS not to attend, or NUTS to attend...either way we would be there. Quote Link to comment
Boo Monkey
My family and I would love to attend an event like this...I wanted to make the Oroville event last month, but I forgot when it was until the next weekend! (One of my many senior moments!) Just tell me when and where, and I will PLAN on being there! Quote Link to comment
