+Snideswipe
No no. Not nearly that extreme, but there are anchovies in the salad dressing on caesar salads. Ugh. *shudders* I hate fish. Can't touch them and refuse to eat them. Perhaps I was slapped with fish repeatedly when I was a child, I don't know. I have nightmares about fish. Fish frighten me. What a lousy farm girl I am. *sniffs* Quote Link to comment
+CYBret
Our local Wal-marts just started carrying Clif Bars! After reading about them in these forums for a long time I'm glad to finally get to sample em. They've also recently reduced the prices on them, so that's another plus. I keep a few energy bar type things with me and lots of water. I've also been known to stop through BK for a Whopper after a particularly successful caching trip. Bret Quote Link to comment
+crzycrzy
Awwwww. Poor Snide ! I am not a big fish fan either. Quote Link to comment
+carleenp
but there are anchovies in the salad dressing on caesar salads. I never knew that. Ceasar salads don't taste "fishy" to me. Or is it a regional thing? Anyway, I like fish. Especially fresh caught trout. Quote Link to comment
+StarshipTrooper
In Canada caffeine can't be in any product where it doesn't naturally occur. I think there maybe a couple of exceptions but that is why our MT. Dew is caffeine less. .....so what about Mt. Dew IS natural ? -ST Quote Link to comment
+Halden
Nothing that is why it has NO caffeine. Quote Link to comment
+rusty_tlc
So all this talk about cheese and meats on the trail, I have to ask. Maybe I was told wrong as a kid, or just assumed because it's all always refrigerated. But is there any problem with spoilage if you have it in your pack for say 9-10 hours during the summer? Sometimes I take roll-ups, ham rolled up in swiss. I have an insulated lunch bag and I pack a frozen water bottle with them. Just wrap the baggie in a paper towel to prevent condensation inside. On a low carb diet salami is health food. Which is okay with me, only problem is I want to wash it down with beer. Quote Link to comment

Used correctly they blend into other dishes and accent without tasting fishy. Anchovies in ceaser dressing is not a regional thing. Quote Link to comment

Anchovies in ceaser dressing is not a regional thing. Interesting! I guess I never paid attention to the ingredients before. Not that it actually matters much to me. I don't mind anchovies even when they taste like anchovies! I remember freaking out as a kid when my Dad would eat anchovy pizza. Now, I would eat anchovy pizza (but it would not be my first choice). dead_white_man
The ONLY way I get anchovies is because they are in Worcestershire sauce. But i can't really tell they are there. Quote Link to comment
+rusty_tlc
I was served fresh raw anchovies in an olive oil dressing. My host told me his wife prepared the treat especially for my visit. I had to try it. Wasen't as bad as you might expect. It was way better than the fresh salami, something about raw pork....... Quote Link to comment
