+Team GPSaxophone
Some (not all...rather, not most) have a policy on Geocaching. Depending on your park managers, they might want you to ask permission or get a permit to place one. The permit would have your contact information in the event that the cache needs to be moved. I would check with your park manager and ask if they've heard of Geocaching. If so, find out what their policy is. If not, you get the job of explaining it to them. Geocaching really has no more impact than hiking does, so if they're willing to listen then you've got a good shot. Some park managers will say "no" just because they have never heard of it. It's the safest (and easiest) way for them to do their job without getting in trouble from the superintendent that manages the entire state. Quote Link to comment
+robert
Depends on the area. Here in Maryland there are guidelines for hiding in state parks. You might want to check the regional forums for your area. You may also want to send an email to your local cache approver, which I believe is mtn-man. If you'd like an idea of what you have to do here in Maryland, click here. Good luck. Quote Link to comment
groundhog123
A state park near my home in NE Texas has 4 caches hidden within its boundaries. One is a multi-cache hidden by Parks and Wildlife folks themselves. Quote Link to comment
+Team Tierra Buena
Since your user profile indicates that all of your traditional caches have been found in Georgia, you may want to have a look at the Georgia Dos and Donts page in the Georgia Geocachers Association website.
