Gps On The Road

There is an interesting topic in one of the other forums going on about having a GPS in a vehicle's window when travelling.

This is mostly regarding laws etc in the USA.

I often travel with my Venture on the car's dashboard and have long been wondering what the traffic laws stipulate here in sunny Soth Africa. Luckily the GPS is mounted on a bean bag type of mount from Garmin so it is easy to simply put it on the passenger seat. Use of a GPS per se should not be a problem as there are vehicles with GPS built in.

My concern is rather about having something on the dashboard. Any one out there that can shed a bit of light on this one?

PS: The Garmin Dashmount, although VERY expensive, is surprisingly stable when put on the dashboard. You will really need to be in an accident to move it. It stays put!
