+NorStar Posted January 13, 2004 Share Posted January 13, 2004 (edited) It would be nice to have a similar way to create downloadable benchmark information for PDAs and GPS devices as you currently have for geocaches. There are some unique things about benchmarks, that the search should address: 1. Unlike geocache locations, where you are pretty much guaranteed that there is a cache at the locations (unless stolen), most of the benchmarks have not been located on the site, or are known to have been destroyed (ex. a building is demolished). So a criteria on on maybe "Not Destroyed" or "Only Those Found by GeoCachers" would help filter the records. 2. Types of benchmarks would be helpful, such as "Only benchmark/survey disk" or "Filter Out 'Not Listed'" would be good. 3. Other criteria such as distance from a specified location (eg. zipcode, another benchmark), is, of course, needed. -N/S Edited January 13, 2004 by NorStar Link to comment
