IronMaiden
This is my second avatar and I'm sticking with it. Ironman 114 hasn't complained about it but if he can have Marvin the Martian I can have the Knight of Ni. Quote Link to comment
+The Cheeseheads
I've started changing mine about once a month, just everyone in the A.S. thread on their toes. (And riled up apparantly as they didn't seem to take the latest change too well... ) I've been changing the line under my avatar every couple of days. BTW... That's Mahoro from Mahoromatic. There's a running gag through the whole series where she keeps confiscating the male character's porn stash, saying "I think dirty thoughts are bad!" I've been modifying her line a bit to make it more geocaching related. So far I've had "Food in caches is bad!", "Not logging DNFs is bad!", and "Trolling the forums is bad!" We'll see what else I come up with before the next avatar change in April. Thanks to Carleen for inspiring my to use anime characters, even if not many here "get it". Oh, and Carleen... if you are reading this, I've just started watching Azumanga Daioh. Very funny! Edited March 5, 2004 by The Cheeseheads Quote Link to comment
+carleenp
Oh, and Carleen... if you are reading this, I've just started watching Azumanga Daioh. Very funny! Good viewing choice! I'm waiting for the DVDs to watch all of it. I've seen about half of it fansubbed. I just bought manga #3 yesterday, which has my avatar on the cover (well until I switch avatars that is, which could be soon). Quote Link to comment

+Wander Lost
My avatar and tag line go together. Bubba Chicken comes from Lil' Lost One. He was calling his gramma 'Bock Bock' and she hated it. We tried to tell him Bock Bock was what a chicken said. He'd run around saying Bock Bock Chicken!! One day in an especially silly mood, I changed it to Bubba Chicken!!! (Bubba is what LLO calls his big Brother) So now Lost One's new nick name is Bubba Chicken!!! Then I remembered I had this old picture of when he had the chicken pox. It was perfect. Other's have been: Lost One as Elvis Lil' Lost One Lost One with Sunset Quote Link to comment

I suppose it is good to go with Kasuga Ayumu. But Osaka is yet more appropriate! Plus, it goes with the fact that I am listening endlessly to Christina Aguilara's "The Voice Within." Not sure what to make of that! Edited to re-phrase in ways that likely won't mean anything except to me. Edited March 7, 2004 by carleenp Quote Link to comment

+NightPilot
Avatars are a PITA. On a dialup connection, it literally takes minutes to load all the jpgs in a long thread, like this one. And when I load the GSAK thread, I can go to the bathroom, go get a beer, watch TV, and finally wander back in and it will just be finishing the loading. Have a ball with them, but I won't use one anymore. Quote Link to comment

If your computer is old/slow then it might take just as long to access the hard-disk as it would to re-download them. I use dial-up myself, so keeping my computer in top shape is a must (defrag, scandisk, etc) Quote Link to comment

+KF6JML
This, my first avatar is actually a segment of an animated GIF that I use as an avatar on my local goecaching dot org. (It spins and flashes on a vertical axis) Since GC.com doesn't support animated gifs as avatars, I selected 1 out of 20 or so segments to show the now stationary rose. Haven't changed it yet, although time and change go hand in hand. Edited March 24, 2004 by KF6JML Quote Link to comment

After yesterday's foolishness with wildearth2001 and Sparky's avatar, I've replaced Mahoro with a new one! Quote Link to comment
+Planet
hmmmmmm, I just went to try to change my avatar and I clicked on 'edit profile' and it only gives me the page to make a new account, so I find my way to my profile and click on 'edit your profile' and there is no way to upload photos anymore, I can't change my profile picture or my avatar. What's up with that?! I need that option. I have to have it. Please bring it back!!!!! Or is it me? Yes I was logged in. Quote Link to comment
