kitefan Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 Hi, Is there an easy way to get a list of all the caches close to a particular route? I'm driving to Chatel (near Geneva) in March and fancied calling in at some en-route caches. Thanks, Kitefan Quote
+Renegade Knight Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 You are limited to looking at a radius at certain logical stopping points. If you have a program like Clayjars Watcher and access to the GPX files generated by Poket queries that premium membes have you can look at caches in a direction from a specific spot. I've never messed with this feature to be able to tell you how well it works. Quote
+Firth of Forth Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 I'm going to Chatel in February, and looked at the few nearby caches, but presumed that they would all be under several metres of snow and therefore inaccessible. However, my GPS may find another use to help me find my way around the ski runs! Quote
+stu_and_sarah Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 I tend to search from the start location for about 20 miles, then map them. Then I find the furthest one in the right direction and search nearest to that cache for 20 miles. And so on... This way you can hop along the route with your searches. It'd be nice to be able to put a line in and search from there... hmmm... let me think... I'm going to Chatel in February, and looked at the few nearby caches, but presumed that they would all be under several metres of snow and therefore inaccessible. We bought a folding snow-shovel for our Finnish trip. Ok... maybe they're under a foot or two rather than several metres! Cheers, Stu Quote
