rottendog Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 After a few hours with the instruction book, I'm totaly confused. How can you enter coordinates into this thing without having to have the computer hooked to it? It shows a lot of ways to set way points, but no way to enter maping coordinates into the unit. Should I return this and get a refund? Is there a more user friendly unit with the same memory capacity? (64meg) Quote
+DustyJacket Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 (edited) Hold down the GOTO button and it will pop-up a window for a new waypoint with your current coordinates. Use your arrow key to change the coordinates to one you want. Easy - but soon you'll want to do it with a computer to prevent "typos". (All the Meridians work this way. An, I assume something similar for a Garmin.) Edited January 11, 2004 by DustyJacket Quote
The_Brownies Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 Not as hard as you think. Hold down the Goto Button to create a Way Point. Punch in the Coordinates, and the log description and save it. It's just that easy. I suggest creating a second way point with your home as the coords. This way if you want to go after a cache, you simply goto the compass screen. Then press the Menu Button. Use the arrow keys and scroll down to routes. Add your home as the starting point, adn the cache as the ending point. The last thing to do is activate the route and you are on the hunt. Suggest that you get a link cable and easygps from GC.com Then you simply download the cache coords and upload them into your magellan. FYI - The CD that came with your Meridian has all of the info about routes and waypoints on it. Quote
