KiltCacher
I was just wondering if a screen protector exists for Garmin eTrex GPSr's. I've thought about just cutting up one for a PDA, but I'm lazy and want something form fitted for my unit. Anyone know? Quote Link to comment
Stunod
Check out Strong Engineering. They will custom make the screen protectors if they don't already carry the one you need. Quote Link to comment
Prime Suspect
You can use any PDA screen protector, just cut them to size. I'd avoid the "glare free" type, through. They're generally harder to see through. Quote Link to comment
Karma Hunter
If you do choose to use a PDA protector, there are (or used to be last time I bought some) at least two different types. The "monochrome" version has a slight texture on the surface (and may be the same as "glare-free"?). It worked fine on a monchrome Palm, though the texture was slightly visible. However, when I used that type on a color Palm, it created all kinds of prismatic distortion and bluriness. I bought "color" screen protectors which have no surface texture, and they create no distortion on either type of Palm. It is as though they aren't there at all. Quote Link to comment
Triac
I use the Garmin carrying case w/belt clip out in the field. Has the screen protector on it. 15 bucks. I'm happy with it. Quote Link to comment
KiltCacher
Thanks for the info. It looks like Strong Engineering does make these for quite a few models, and less than a buck a piece! Quote Link to comment
