Brian_d Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 I was out geocaching at 5 p.m. pst. on dec. 31 2003. It's dusk & getting darker by the minute. So I woundered, "who got the last cache of 2003? There's got to be a few that are more diehard than me!" Anyone? Quote
+Johnnie Stalkers Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 hmmm, what is the last time zone to flip over? Quote
+Jamie Z Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 Someone has already posted a later time than me, but I found a cache at a little after 5:00pm CST on December 31. I missed running into another cacher at the cache by about an hour, according to his timestamp in the logbook. Jamie Quote
Clements Cacher Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 I logged a cache at 12:01am 1-1-04 (USA central time). I figured starting the new year well was more important than finishing 2003. Can't log the find on the website tho cause it is a "members only" cache. Was kinda fun being the first to find when i couldn't even get the coordinates. (BTW: i'm not saying i'm that good, just knew the area) clements cacher. Surely someone had a late Dec 31 cache.... Quote
+Staos Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 in USA hawaii idk about others Actually, no. Some parts of Alaska are in the eastern hemisphere, but technically before the international date line, so those parts of Alaska would be the last to flip over in the US. Quote
+TeamK-9 Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 I was out caching at about 6pm EST, but I didn't actually find the cache, so I guess I don't really qualify... Quote
+TAT Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 My dad was probably the last person to find his first traditional cache last year, at 3:30 PM MST. Earlier in the day, we had one no find, and one virtual (still pending). Quote
+ChrisCindy Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 (edited) Wasn't me as we didn't cache on New Years Eve. Edited January 7, 2004 by ChrisCindy Quote
+Cacheola Crew Posted January 8, 2004 Posted January 8, 2004 (edited) We found a new cache, Luther's Bug House, at 10:45 on Christmas Eve (and boy were our kids concerned about not being in bed yet!). We tried to find The Birds Have It cache in the early hours of New Year's Day (1am or so) and we ended up getting our first DID NOT FIND of the new year. +tdjvolks Posted January 9, 2004 Posted January 9, 2004 We logged a FTF 20 Miles of Bad Road at 11:00pm December 31 03. What a blast as we were driving home from the area of the cache through all the fire works. Quote
+Team GeoCan Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 (edited) So how many caches on Little Bear Island, or near Kotzebue? Back in 1977 I was able to put foot in three unique places, I wish I was into caching then, I would have left caches at BOTH poles and on top of Mt. McKinley...And on Christamas day that year I was in a HC-130 flying over the KamChatka penninsula on a search for a lost aircraft, we had to leave when the soviet Migs scrambled.
