Odwolda
I mean, my plain old yellow etrex is fine for now, but is the Vista like an actual GPS? You know, like with a map and all that shows the trails and roads and things? That would make this a lot less frustrating in the woods and stuff... Quote Link to comment
Odwolda
And I mean a fairly detailed map too, not just plain names like "camp", but like the name of the camp and all. Quote Link to comment
+the4Grays
I have a vista and etrex and yes the vista has maps fairly good ones also depending on the version of topo map or road map you are using. I do like the vista and all its goodies much better then my etrex. hope this helps Edited January 1, 2004 by the4grays Quote Link to comment
Odwolda
Thanks, I'll probably ask for it as a birthday gift...but which maps should I use and what's the difference? Edited January 2, 2004 by Odwolda Quote Link to comment
+Maxine&Me
I have a Vista and bought MetroGuide for it. I was more concerned about navigating streets when caching in different cities. It works great however I find that the screen sizes forces me to do a lot of panning and zooming and thats not real fun to do. I have resorted to using a laptop and interfacing the GPS to that so that I have a large screen with moving map. I have been able to use the Vista/MetroGuide when I really got turned around to get me back on a main road. Quote Link to comment
+rusty_tlc
I had a legand and had the same complaint. The screen size was a problem for me. My magellan is better, but with my eyes I would need a laptop to be happy. Quote Link to comment
