+Dragonpearl
During your caching travels, have any of you found any really nice camping spots in the VA area? I'm thinking of Big Meadow's Campground in Luray. Has anyone been there? Quote Link to comment
+PeachyPA
About 15 years ago, we camped at Sherando Lake off of the Blue Ridge Pkwy. south of Waynesboro. As I recall it was a nice campground with a shady beach on the lake; it was great for little redheads! Can't say what it is like these days, though. Quote Link to comment
+Goblin
Big Meadows in not in Luray. It is further north around Paris, VA. Just west of Route 688 and south of Route 50. I haven't camped there myself but they cut backon their hours and services last year during budget cuts. I've hiked the AT which is runs just west of Big Meadows. It's a great area. +Cacheola Crew
I'd second the recommendation of Sherando Lake. We've stayed there twice and it was very nice. We have also stayed at Big Meadow. That was nice too, but one thing I remember about that one is that they have timers on the showers! Janine Quote Link to comment
