SBPhishy Posted December 26, 2003 Posted December 26, 2003 I came upon some money for Christmas and i want to get a handheld of some kind. There seem to be so many different kinds, and i have never owned one before. Obviously i want to use it for caching, as well as some other things. I would like info on the models specifically, but i guess any information would be great. If any one out here owns a Palm Zire 21 or a Sony PEG-TJ25, i would love some info. Also, if you have different ideas on what i should get, or just any advice in general. I know that the Zire 21 does not have a backlight, which kind of sucks (no night caching). Anyways, thank you all in advance! Quote

+Harrald Posted December 26, 2003 Posted December 26, 2003 I've got a Zire71. It's a great unit. The quality of picture isn't really good for outdoor caching photos. I added a 256-SD card. I've got room for all the softwear I need, pictures and even some tunes. I would think about getting the Tungsten C. It comes with built in WiFi. I've seen it in action and it's pretty cool. Quote
SBPhishy Posted December 26, 2003 Author Posted December 26, 2003 Thanks! does anyone also have any info on the Tungsten E, or the older Palm M130 (and possibly where to get a new one?) Thanks again Quote
marty621 Posted December 26, 2003 Posted December 26, 2003 Sony Clie SJ20 (monochrome) works well for me. Now that I have a digital camera, I would like the color model SJ22. Cables from PC Mobile. Quote
+GeckoGeek Posted December 26, 2003 Posted December 26, 2003 Obviously i want to use it for caching, as well as some other things. The large screen if any unit is rather fragile and PDAs are not waterproof. So any unit you use for caching needs to be expendable. For that reason, I would not suggest any unit much over $100 or so. SBPhishy Posted December 28, 2003 Author Posted December 28, 2003 thanks everyone. I just came upon an old Palm III for 30$ that i couldnt pass up. Quote
+Learned Gerbil Posted December 28, 2003 Posted December 28, 2003 Consider getting an Aquapac - they do one that is ideal for Palms. Quote
