+Maxine&Me
Does anyone know how I can download a map from Garmin's Mapsource into a Palm Pilot. It saves it's Maps as an .mps file. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
+tirediron
No can do... legally at least. Garmin's Mapsource *.mps format is a propietary one, and can only be used with their software. What you could do (and I am not going to say that this doesn't violate Garmin's EULA) is take a screen-capture of the map on your PC and then upload the image to your Palm. I know that there are some reverse engineering tools to allow you to turn your own maps in *.mps format - they might help, but that's a slippery copyright slope that I am not going down. Hope that helps. Quote Link to comment
+Maxine&Me
Well darn, I was hoping I could download the map and maintain the zoom and pan features that I have on my PC. Looks like I am buying yet another package to do that . Thanks for the comments. Quote Link to comment
+tirediron
Try Mapopolis- It's a bit restricted for use up here in Canada, but from what I have seen, much better in the US. No topo though, as far as I know. Good luck : Quote Link to comment
