+snowmann
I'm not able to get my PDA to accept *LOC files, I have a Tungsten E and I can't get it to take. any suggestions???????????? Quote Link to comment
+robert
What are you trying to do with the LOC file in your Palm? If you want to view cache pages, you'll need a GPX file (which you can get as a premium member) and a program to read it such as CacheMate Quote Link to comment
+snowmann
Thank you! That was the info I was looking for, I'm new to caching and even newer to a PDA. Quote Link to comment
+gpsblake
I haven't tried it yet because I don't own a PDA but the Utopia program will transfer .loc files to the .gpx format and it is very easy to use. You won't get all the data would you get from a pocket query but I figure it probably would put it in a format you can use. Maybe someone can test it to confirm. That program transfers .loc formats to many others, and i use it to transfer waypoints to Street Atlas 8. http://home.earthlink.net/~msargent2/ch/beta.html Quote Link to comment
+snowmann
OK! here it is, I must be losing my mind, but I can't get cache pages to my PDA/ Doc to go file and I'm about to pull out what little hair I have. I'm no were near computer lit, but it can't be as bad as I'm making it can it? Is there a compute for Dumbies I can see how to do it? Quote Link to comment
+Pudman
Take a break and read this link: paperless caching. For another way to do this that IMO is much simpler and easier try this link: CacheMate. Hope this helps! Edited December 16, 2003 by Pudman&Pookie2 Quote Link to comment
+snowmann
Sorry! Pudman&Pookie2 for the long delay in getting back to you. Thank you for your help, I finlly finished it last night and it worked great Quote Link to comment
Dale_Lynn
Easy GPS will convert .LOC to .GPX files... But then again there is the data loss by not getting a GPX file from online. And it will have to be done on a pc. Dale Quote Link to comment
