Damenace Posted December 13, 2003 Posted December 13, 2003 I am looking to purchase a case for my Meridian Platinum but it seems the only kind of case I can find is the canvas type magellan sells. I would really like to find one that has a "see thru" type covering so I would still be able to navigate without unzipping the pouch and taking it out of the case every time. Belt clip or lanyard would be a bonus but really not important. Any suggestions? Damenace Quote
DustyJacket Posted December 13, 2003 Posted December 13, 2003 Try this: http://www.thegpsstore.net/detail.asp?product_id=BE300 I have two. Quote
Damenace Posted December 13, 2003 Author Posted December 13, 2003 (edited) Thank you for your response. Can you tell me how well they fit, and how visible is the screen? Also is there a decrease in the reception due to the covering/material? What kind of material is the case made from? And one last question does it have to be taken out of the case to hook to the car cable? Thank you Damenace Edited December 13, 2003 by Damenace Quote
DustyJacket Posted December 14, 2003 Posted December 14, 2003 (edited) Fits well, great visibility, great reception, and yes, you have to take it off to hook it up. And the case is made of neoprene (wetsuit material). Edited December 14, 2003 by DustyJacket Quote
E = Mc2 Posted December 16, 2003 Posted December 16, 2003 Quick question. Any problems with button use with that cover over them? I've been wanting something like this since I first got mine. Wonder why Magellan doesn't make this? Thanks for the link, BTW. Quote
DustyJacket Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 I've not had problems pushing buttons through the plastic windows. Additionally, it shield the GPS from static electricity, which causes shutdowns, on Meridians. Quote
