+Halden
I know they are out there. I have one in place. How many Cachers have seen/found/hide a Holiday themed cache? Quote Link to comment
+CYBret
We had a cache in the area called "The Holiday Cache." The idea was that whatever holiday was coming up, that's what you would leave something related to it. However, it didn't last long (plundered). I think it probably wouldn't have been too long before it strayed pretty far from its intended theme, though. Another cacher in our area has recently hidden a cache at "Santa's House" in a nearby town. Neat idea, and I guess since it's there all year round it maintains the theme. Bret Quote Link to comment
umc
We have this one that I will probably go for this weekend. Try the quiz, its pretty fun. Quote Link to comment
+Patuxent Pirates
New cache activity has been pretty low around my area for the last month. Too many nasty weekends. Can't wait until spring!! Quote Link to comment
+Lazyboy & Mitey Mite
I thought I recalled reading a forum post from last year that holiday themed caches were frowned on? I could be wrong. We were setting one out that had holiday stuff in it but the title was going to be generic enough so the cache could evolve into whatever it was destined to become. Quote Link to comment

They can be frowned upon if the they are place with intentions of it being a temporary cache. As far as the one I linked to, the owner is going to make it a regular cache afterwards. Thats fine. +Halden
When I submitted my cache I was questioned as to whether this was a permanent cache or only seasonal. I have all intentions of keeping this Cache going year round. Quote Link to comment
+carleenp
I'm planning to place a Christmas cache this weekend or next week. It will have a Christmas theme, but will be a permanent cache. Quote Link to comment
+cachefamily
I found this one today. Brosnan Christmas Cache by Abzug and Hayduke (GC2DCB) New York (United States) Quote Link to comment
+Snoogans
At our local event tomorrow, I'll be giving away a fully stocked cache (25 + items including the camo container) as part of our White Elephant game. It would be kinda cool if it got placed with a Christmas theme. Sn gans Quote Link to comment
Cachengrab
I planted a Christmas Cache 2 weeks ago, it will run year round. Asked the same question year round or temp. Quote Link to comment
me_speedee
Jacksonville has a 12 Days of Christmas micro series with a bonus cache at the end. Up until Christmas you can take something (cool GEO items) without trading; after Christmas it becomes a regular trade-for-junk cache. Wanted to get there last weekend, but cached elsewhere - will probably have to go after New Years. Quote Link to comment
+Mark.B
Rusty O Junk has placed his second Christmas cache in the Albany, NY area. His 2002 Christmas Cache was a big hit. There are wrapped gifts in the cache for Junior and Senior Geocachers. Only 1 visit so far to this new cache because of the heavy snow last weekend. I am sure that more people will get out to the cache this weekend. View the cache page here:GCHAE3-Chrismas Cache 2003 Quote Link to comment

+Lazyboy & Mitey Mite
We've just decorated the outside of an ammo box with a holiday theme. We're tossing a little event cache today and the cache with contents is to be given away as a door prize. It's Christmasie but obviously will evolve. Quote Link to comment
+Halden
Well my Christmas Cache has worked well so far. it is also my first cache. Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
Here is one. It's not approvable on GC.com and so qualifies as banned but it's still a good cache. Gifts From the Heart Quote Link to comment
