Geocoins

California now has its own Geocoins. See this thread for information:

(If that doesn't work just look for Geocoins in the California forum). They look pretty nice.

 

I don't except to receive the coins I've ordered until February, but once I do I would be interested in trading for coins from other states. If you are interested in a trade, e-mail me, but I won't respond until I actually have the California coins in hand.

I didn't see the company that makes these in the thread. Just wondering who it is, and what the cost is if anyone else wants to get their own state or design done.

There was a whole thread on the subject (of creating the design for the California coin and having it made) but maybe it disappeared when the forums were moved? I couldn't find it, anyway. Your best bet is to go to the West/Southwest forum and ask about it there. The folks who worked on the coin, can probably give you the information you need.

I didn't have any luck that way. If you could just give me the company name/address that would be great. I have commercial designers in the family so I have that part handled, just need the company to price/order from.

The USA, Oregon, and California geocoins are produced by Pressed Metal Products (www.pressedmetal.net). There are other companies out there as well that have done an excellent job with geocoins.

Yep, the coins were made by Pressed Metal (www.pressedmetal.net). Too bad that the story behind the creation of the design was lost to cyberspace. It's always interesting to see the creative process in action.

There is still time to order the California Geocoin. They are $3 each.

 

Even though the deadline was officially Dec. 15th, I won't be placing the order until January 6, 2004 (because Pressed Metal, the company that is minting these Geocoins, is closed for 2 weeks during the holidays).

 

So, I will accept any orders I receive up to January 5, 2004. But don't wait, I have more then required minimum to place an order. As of 12/16/03, we have a total of 722 Geocoins ordered with more orders apparently in the mail.

 

So get your orders into me ASAP. And send me an email notification that your order is on the way (at: Bobkat92@AOL.Com).
