TahoeJoe
I decided it is way overdue for me to support this site, so I sent out a check for $30 last Monday for a premium membership. I was wondering how long it takes to go through the system to receive my subscription activation number (I'm anxious to start using pocket queries). Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
That's how I do it also. Allow for snail mail time then add a week. Then factor in that you are sending your check during the christmas mail rush. Once you are in they send out an email when you are close to your year so you have plenty of time to renew. +Halden
I didn't realize cheque was an option. Good to hear I can bypass PainPal. Quote Link to comment
+gallahad
As I recall, it took about three weeks for processing my check/application. If you're a patient person it'll help. The process involves a very few folks doing an enormous amount of work but they do get the job done; and they do it very well. Quote Link to comment
+Rubeeslpr
We did our membership by check, also. It took over 3 weeks for the check to clear and for our membership to become active. Quote Link to comment
+Insp Gadget
Being from Canada, it's nothing but a pain to use cheques. Having to run to the bank to get the money changed into US$...... UNfortunately, Paypal does not accept an American Express Corporate card, so I'm kind of left out. Anyone know if Groundspeak will take the Amex directly instead of going through Paypal? Cachengrab
You could send it as a Postal Money Order done in US currancy. Hit the mail and do the cash all at once. Quote Link to comment
+Tiwica
No....No...No... Waiting over 3 weeks after you cut the check????? That's unacceptable. Grounspeak uses Sunrise Identity for credit card purchases from their store. Not big leap to offer it also for membership. I speak from the experience of having my own merchant account. I'll still wait til they can accept my CC for membership, but not through PainPal as it is now... Quote Link to comment

+Bloencustoms
I'd love to just send $30 in the mail. Boy would that be easy. Quote Link to comment

It's pain (and expensive) to use cheques being from Finland too. I think PayEnemy accepts Amex Green Cards, but I had so much trouble with it when I upgraded my membership, that I won't use it any more (I ended up using my wife's MasterCard instead, priceless). To answer your question, Groundspeak has promised to accept credit cards directly in the future. They haven't announced yet any schedule when that will come, nor what cards they will take. I sure hope Amex will be one of them. Quote Link to comment
