+MissJenn
My brother and I helped Trista the Tricer achieve her goal of reaching the La Brea Tar Pits, yesterday. Our first TB found, our first time achieving a goal for a TB, and our first (long) road trip for geocaching. Wow - very nice. Lots of firsts! Hopefully many more to come. Quote Link to comment
+Kfam
A Vagrant Fungus Among Us has been acheiving it's goal of just seeing the world and collecting pictures of mushroom relatives. Beginning in the Pacific Northwest, it has traveled to Australia, Amsterdam, and is currently near London. Yesterday's placement has put it over the 20,000 mile mark. We are very pleased that it is doing so well! Quote Link to comment
+Team Bear-Cat
We are very much enjoying the TBs and especially like helping them when they have a specific goal. We have assisted several of the NFL stadium racers; most recently we picked up New Gotham Tigger who had been completely grounded since launching in the race in August! We knew we were heading up to the Washington DC area for work, so we took the Gotham Tigger along and got the photos of him at the GA Dome and the Redskins FedEx field! <p> Another TB recently reached her half-way/turnaround point: Peaceful Peach has made it from CA to GA and is now started back to CA! We picked her up in Atlanta, GA and have placed her in a lovely peaceful cache near the TN state line to get her going west. Quote Link to comment
+worldtraveler
World Traveling Old Glory #6 has finally made it home! I placed it in a cache in Hawaii the 1st of June 2002, and it has traveled 2.5 years through 23 caches in nine states covering 7020 miles to get to its destination. It's the first of my 10 "free range" travel bugs to make it home, and it gives me hope that some of my other travel bugs might yet make it. Thanks to all who made it possible. +worldtraveler
"free range" travel bugs That's funny. Seemed more descriptive than "traditional". Hey, if it's good enough for cattle and chickens, why not bugs (and maybe frogs)? OT: Whenever I hear about free range chicken, I remember the old "Far Side" cartoon. You know - the one where... +Planet
I suppose I have been very lucky. Both of my travel bugs are still active, and both have completed their missions and have been sent out on new ones. Give Peace a Chance was in the first Cannonball Run Race, and is now heading around to get stories from veterans. Sure wish someone would talk to a vet though. No stories yet. And mtn-man's ride made it to mtn-man and has a new goal to make it to Lapaglia in Colorado. But mtn-man has been busy, I guess...... Edited December 8, 2004 by Planet Quote Link to comment
