Tigergps.com had some monochrome units for sale..but have taken them off.. why? Does Garmin hope to sell the color versions first, then let people know about the cheaper monochrome versions at a later date? Or does the monochrome 60 units not even exist?

and the million $ question is: did garmin figure on 30 hours of battery life based on the monochrome screens? will the color units still get 30 hours or is this something they need to correct on the item descriptions for the 60c and 60cs?

My somewhat educated guess is that they will release the color versions first due to demand for those models. From what I've seen/read/heard, the 60CS will be first. It's the top model and apparently is in the most demand (if you're going to spend the money... spend the money!) The 60C will likely come next, then the two B&W models. Kinda like when automakers release a new model, it's typically not the bargain ones out but the loaded ones.

I couldn't wait. I have had my 60CS on order with Tiger for a bit now. Hopefully we won't get shafted by these guys or something. I've never heard about them. Still wondering if they are trustworthy.

 

$400 for this unit seems absurdly cheap for some reason. Like I woke up in GPS heaven somehow...
