+ZoomZoom Posted January 7, 2004 Author Posted January 7, 2004 Well??? is it snowing in Ottawa or not? Quote
+Halden Posted January 8, 2004 Posted January 8, 2004 Still no snow but it was V-V-V-V-Very cold this morning. Quote
+ZoomZoom Posted January 9, 2004 Author Posted January 9, 2004 It all but pretty much melted away here in Victoria. I hear we might get somemore this week-end but you never know around here for sure. Quote
+Capitalpete Posted January 9, 2004 Posted January 9, 2004 Hey Zoom Zoom, that is just a bad rumor........... It does not snow here in Victoria remember???? LOL Quote
+ZoomZoom Posted January 9, 2004 Author Posted January 9, 2004 Yeah that's right! I think we call it freezing rain. Quote
dobelady Posted January 9, 2004 Posted January 9, 2004 we have major meltage going on....but still lots of ice...I can attest to that. I took a dive bringing in firewood and dislocated my shoulder Got 2 caches (carefully) on the way home from xrays hehehe Quote
+ZoomZoom Posted January 9, 2004 Author Posted January 9, 2004 Caching has medicinal benefits especially after seeing the doctor. Hope you recover from your injuries quickly, so far I've manage to dislocated both shoulders. As least it's far from the heart! Quote
Peregrine007 Posted January 9, 2004 Posted January 9, 2004 I heard we might expect more of those cold out-flow winds around the middle of the month, which might bring us more of the white stuff. Guess we'll find out! Quote
dobelady Posted January 10, 2004 Posted January 10, 2004 Hey Zoom Zoom thank you for your concern for my well being! Happy to report I am rapidly recovering, xrays were clear...got 3 caches today. I do not plan on repeating the injury performance anytime soon. Mind you I'd rather hurt myself at home than out on a trail somewhere. I'm glad the cold weather broke so quickly, going down to visit a dog show friend (actually the one who introduced me to caching) in Washington State tomorrow. They got hit with the worst of that storm down there, she had no power for over 48 hours. Quote
+ZoomZoom Posted January 10, 2004 Author Posted January 10, 2004 (edited) By the way, Dobelady, congrats on your first FTF on that memorable day. Edited January 10, 2004 by ZoomZoom Quote
+Halden Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 Finally some snow and some temperatures higher than -25. Quote
+Halden Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 Now that fairer temperatures are back upon us, Are the cache finds going to return to their regular pace? Quote
dobelady Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 I don't know about regular pace...I'm really new to this but I have picked up the pace this weekend...new personal 1 day record of five was set today in Puyallup Washington...I hope to best that soon though! I would be interested to know how many others have found in a single day? Quote
+ciggy Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 I had a 10-find day a couple of months ago. That was before the snow, and was bike-assisted. Quote
+ZoomZoom Posted January 13, 2004 Author Posted January 13, 2004 15 for this guy so far but that's minor compare to all the caches available around here. Quote
+eroyd Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 I did 15-20 by myself one day starting in Sooke and sweeping accross the hills comming out at Shawnigan. Have done more around town but that's no big poop given Victoria's situation. Don't and won't do cachemachines. Quote
+eroyd Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 Oh! Sorry. and there's no snow in Victoria. Quote
+ZoomZoom Posted January 13, 2004 Author Posted January 13, 2004 Yeah but there's an ice storm in my freezer. Hate that when that happens. Quote
