+crashmore
This is just way cool. Thanks a ton to everyone who made this happen. I hope to get out there someday to see it. I wish I could be there for the placement but I've sent a donation instead (better late than never) "Law pain i reviar mistar aen" Quote Link to comment
+Tsegi Mike and Desert Viking
Convey our thanks to the owners of the land for letting Jeff establish the memorial plaque. It is nice of them. +makaio
It was nice to finally meet you, Dave, as well as Team360 (who I'd already et in Phoenix), Romad Pilot, Dan and Janet and their girls. The plaque is very nice and Jeff did a great job monumenting it. We all supervised while Jeff did all the sweating ----- Matt K7MTO Quote Link to comment

+RomadPilot
Greeting everyone, I've posted some pictures on the page. I have to finish resizing picture and will post the rest! It was great to meet everyone who showed up! Frank Quote Link to comment
daveulmer
Greetings! Hey, I have a 20MB mpeg video file of the creation of the first geocache. The video runs 1.5 minutes and shows the stash contents. Can someone show me a place on the net where I can upload this file and link it to the memorial plaque stash page? Dave... +makaio
Maybe the PDX Geocaching site has room. I've posted a note on the forum there and see if they can host it. http://pdxgeocaching.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=271#271 ----- Matt K7MTO [This message was edited by makaio on September 15, 2003 at 06:37 PM.] Quote Link to comment

Dave Ulmer - Inventor of Geocaching Dave, Email me through gc.com or through pdxgeocaching.com. There's a chance we can put it up there. "Where shall the world be found, where will the word resound? +DenaliNW
The video that Dave made back in 2000, is up and available for viewing. Read about it here. As I mentioned in the Portland forum, I'm not sure what a file of this size will do to my bandwidth allowances. For now it's up. It is rather cool in a surreal sort of way. +The Leprechauns
wow... thanks for that. I got a sense from watching the video that Dave KNEW he was making history, and wanted a record of it. And I got to see the can of beans. x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x Next time, instead of getting married, I think I'll just find a woman I don't like and buy her a house. +cachew nut
Something's very fishy or someone was confused. In the movie, the stash note clearly shows the date as 04-03-2000. SA being turned off didn't happen until May. So either the stash note or plaque is wrong. I want a full investigation. Quote Link to comment
ju66l3r
So now that it's placed, who has the cojones to submit it as a virtual? Quote Link to comment

He says in must have had April on his mind still. quote: So now that it's placed, who has the cojones to submit it as a virtual? It's already an approved cache with a logbook. If you're going to put a plaque there with the owners permission - why not permanantly afix an ammo box to the post holding up the plaque with a logbook? Just an idea, might not be feasable. southdeltan "Man can counterfeit everything except silence". - William Faulkner Now you have given me a strange desire to go to Wyoming to look for ammo cans with goodies in them. I can't sleep, I make ammo cans out of my mashed potatoes at dinner and then try to track them. I have tried to make travel bugs out of my roaches. WHAT EVER SHALL I DO? Quote Link to comment
+CO Admin
Did anyone else notice the the infamous can of beans is listed on the original log book as a can of Blackeyed Peas?? I work for the QOFE that works for the Frog The Frog is my friend Quote Link to comment
