can't get no closer than .01 miles?

I need help, yesterday I bought a Magellan 315 and I had a great day planned out for me and the wife. The problem is, when we went to look for caches my GPS would get me no closer than .01 miles. A friend of mine has the same unit and it will tell him when he is 5 feet away from his landmark. Can anyone tell me how to get this GPS to switch over into footage when I'm within .01 miles?

Thanks, Kaauz

I have the same results as you do with my 315. It only goes down to .01 mile. I used a Magellan 330 last week and it did go down in feet to one foot. If you find a way to get the 315 to narrow the location down to feet ,please let me know also. The only thing I can guess is that your friend's 315 is a different version, my version is 3.07.The year is 2000. Maybe your 315 is older stock and your friend has a newer version...??????

Go to Magellans website & download the free newer version (2.08?) & all your problems will be solved. Of course you'll need the GPS to computor hookup but it could be obtained on ebay for less than $30 plus it's also got an adapter to run your unit off cig. lighter socket. Great battery saver.
