kaauz
I need help, yesterday I bought a Magellan 315 and I had a great day planned out for me and the wife. The problem is, when we went to look for caches my GPS would get me no closer than .01 miles. A friend of mine has the same unit and it will tell him when he is 5 feet away from his landmark. Can anyone tell me how to get this GPS to switch over into footage when I'm within .01 miles? Thanks, Kaauz Quote Link to comment
Hydro
I have the same results as you do with my 315. It only goes down to .01 mile. I used a Magellan 330 last week and it did go down in feet to one foot. If you find a way to get the 315 to narrow the location down to feet ,please let me know also. The only thing I can guess is that your friend's 315 is a different version, my version is 3.07.The year is 2000. Maybe your 315 is older stock and your friend has a newer version...?????? Thanks, Kaauz Go to Magellans website & download the free newer version (2.08?) & all your problems will be solved. Of course you'll need the GPS to computor hookup but it could be obtained on ebay for less than $30 plus it's also got an adapter to run your unit off cig. lighter socket. Great battery saver. magellan315
The latest firmaware upgrade for the Magellan315 is version 3.15, its a free down load from the www.Magellangps.com website. All you need is the PC cable and it will get you a countdown in feet. Quote Link to comment
+mrcpu
My buddy has my old maggy 310 and switches it to UTM (meters essentially) so he can read how many metres north/south and east/west he is from the cache. Rob Mobile Cache Command Quote Link to comment
Night Tracker
Get the latest version (v3.15) for free. When you first turn on the unit it will show the version it has as it boots up.. Quote Link to comment
+Don&Betty
With my old Magellan 410, I set it for kilometers instead of miles. So, it reads down to 0.01 km instead of 0.01 mile. 0.01 km is 10 meters about 33 ft, whereas 0.01 mile is 0.01 of 5280 feet, about 53 feet. That helps. Quote Link to comment
