+DeerChaser & Company
I had to move the first cache, #2 was stolen with in 2 days. And my last cache that I hollowed out a log for was just burnt up in a fire after a long 4 days of being placed. I give up!!! ____________________________________________________________ Quote Link to comment

+Mr. Snazz
Can I have your stereo? Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
After 12 finds it's hard to say weather or not you know what a 'plunderproof' location is. Some locations are high risk and deserve a cache anway. As for the log...that's just blind luck. Wherever you go there you are. Quote Link to comment
+SuperMadCachers
Can I have your GPS? Quote Link to comment

+DeerChaser & Company
2002 F150. no u cant have my stero and no u cant have my gps either I have spent many years hiding from all kinds of things in the woods. I don't think a controlled burn has any thing to do with how many caches I have found or my experience. I'll be back ____________________________________________________________ [This message was edited by DeerChaser & Poni on February 12, 2003 at 06:12 PM.] Quote Link to comment
The 2 Dogs
Don't give up!! Don't get mad!!....GET EVEN. Achive the cache, then place a dummy cache for the vandals complete with a nest of bull ants within or maybe a rattle snake waiting to pounce when the box is opened. Quote Link to comment

+DeerChaser & Company
They are burning the southeast side of GDC. Chazman told me yesturday. It was the Love it or Hate it cache full of GOOD STUFF! It was in a hollowed log (took me a long time). My other one is safe. Oh well, I'll replace it sometime soon. ____________________________________________________________ Quote Link to comment
+SeaTrout
I think that it is a conspiracy ! I did not get a chance to find the missing one or the burned one. I did not know that they did control burns out there.I guess its because all of the houses that are popping up out there.Put me on the list for the red truck and the Rhino though ! Seatrout PS. alot of local cachers read these forums. Don't give away clues to your cache containers (previous post about hollow log). Quote Link to comment

+Desert_Warrior
Was to put 2 pi$$ed-off bob-cats in a suitcase and left them for the thieves. Few hours later, we found an open and empty suitcase, and footprints heading off into the sunset. They have not been back! I have had losses too. Please don't give up. Take a few days off, take a deep breath, and slowly start looking for goodies for your next cache. Let the excitement build. Mike. Desert_Warrior (aka KD9KC). El Paso, Texas. +majicman
Don't feel so bad. I once hid a "food only cache" and it was destroyed within days! I then hid a explosives only cache, and that didn't go over with a bang! Under the auspices of boblog2, I discussed hiding an all-medicine cache... well, we don't want to go there again!!!! --majicman My new book available now!: (http://www.mcwj.com ) Quote Link to comment
+DeerChaser & Company
Ok great idea. My next cache will be a "things with fangs" cache in a fire proof container ____________________________________________________________ Quote Link to comment
glynnfam
Deerchaser - my first cache "turned up missing" after a controlled burn/brush removal. About 3 days before I went to it to remove the camera and log for the winter. I was SO bummed, and I know how you feel! Keep on caching! Quote Link to comment
+SeaTrout
GDC = General Development Corp. They are the now defunct company that built all those roads out in SW Palm Bay. The area never progressed so they went bankrupt. Edited ... Sorry I did not see the above answer before replying. Quote Link to comment
Micqn
The next time you go to hide the cache in an area to be burned try using one of the these. Guaranteed to last up to .5 hours or Sentry will replace the contents. Happy. Hunting. Quote Link to comment
