+Bloencustoms
I presently do hard manual labor. I install commercial vehicle upgrades and accessories. Anything from winches to ladder racks, alarm systems, truck bedliners, police lightbars and strobes, grille guards, trailer hitches, electronic brake controllers, camper tops, tonneau covers, hydraulic liftgates, laptop mounts, sirens, toolboxes, ladder racks, bulkheads, shelves, freon tank mounts, fog lights, 12V to 120V inverters, door post lights, commercial logo decals, conduit carriers and much more. +nscaler
Substitute School Bus Driver. I have cache finds all times of the day, just not at night. Not much night caching when you have to get up at (shudder) 0400 to be at work by (groan) 0500. But with a two hour split(lunch) in the middle of the morning, I have got some then. Most after work or weekends. Some during work, but not with kids! I have shown some students about geocaching - don't know if it ever pans out though. nscaler "Anyone not here, raise your hand!". +Akhenaten
I'm a self-employed web developer and usually cache alone during the weekdays, when I need a break from staring at the monitor. Sometimes on weekends I will cache with my brother, my wife and/or a friend. Quote Link to comment
+EthicalEgoist
I'm an educational advisor at Kaplan Test Prep in New York, and while I usually work during the week, I do occasionally have the odd weekend or late weeknight shift. My better half and I usually geocache on the weekends, but we've not gone out in a while mainly because we've had other weekend obligations for the past month or so. He's the one with the GPS unit (I've not had the change lying around recently to purchase one yet), so he will from time to time go out caching on his own. Quote Link to comment
+Stump
I'm a trophy husband. Have the time to cache during the day but mostly cache on the weekends or afternoons when we can do it as a family. Ultimamind
What a diverse bunch of fabulous people we are! My love is writing - I do a quarterly newsletter for an animal rescue group grant writing and other assorted fiction writing related nonsense. Gotta pay the bills, though (all of them? waaahhh!) so I work FT for the great (nearly broke) State of Florida as a computer trainer for the local state attorney's office. Also have this bizarre urge to do community theater and stand-up comedy *more like a sickness, really*....I do that every once in a blue moon (kinda like a werewolf that way....) I'm caching when the weather's halfway decent. Writing when it's not - or when it's dark. I usually have to go caching alone (nobody gets it). Although both my mother and my daughter have gone with me in the past. So, I get the heebie-jeebies sometimes when I'm in a remote place and there's gators or freak-o's nearby...Can't imagine going in the dark! But the days are short this time of year. I am trepidatious about caching in public parks at night, since I seldom can find anyone to come along. GROSS POINT BLANK I work in an industrial forge. We make parts for mainly the auto industry - gears in trannsmissions, hubs for wheels, kingpins for semis. Also some mining machinery parts. I still maintain those duties, as well as having been given the same duties as a shift foreman to maintain as well - safety regs, press machinery & crew supervision, discipline, troubleshooting, blah bla blah. The air is semi breathable. Its superheated steel, so extreme temp variations. Its very noisy, and there are tons of hazards to watch out for. AFLAC laughs at us if we ask about insurance. department heads constantly battle for power (read Dilbert, its more fact than you think) The union protects people who don't do their job. You get threatened when you shut down machines for defective parts, and wonder which co-worker will snap and go postal. We joke about not being able to hear gun shots in the place, but nobody laughs for real. When do I cache ? Whenever I can. I love winter and night caching, but we have a 2 year old son, so its limited. Thats ok, my son makes everything worthwhile.
