+Faderaven Posted October 12, 2002 Posted October 12, 2002 Is there some way to do this short of visiting an airport (who know their altitude and AP)? I was hoping someone could give me some tips Quote
+Faderaven Posted October 12, 2002 Author Posted October 12, 2002 I guess I should have put this in GPS units and Software. *sheepish grin* May the powers that be feel free to move it. Quote
+True Grid Posted October 12, 2002 Posted October 12, 2002 Go find one of the Bench Mark Geocaches, and use the elevation listed for that mark to calibrate with. If you want to be really accurate, use one of the BM's with a diferential elevation instead of a scaled elevation. "True Grid" In the Pacific Northwet Quote
solohiker Posted October 12, 2002 Posted October 12, 2002 Look at a topo map of the area you are in. The elevation is marked in concentric rings. I assume the Vista is like my Suunto altimeter. I just set the altitude according to my map. Quote
Cache Canucks Posted October 14, 2002 Posted October 14, 2002 ...or simply use the altitude provided by the 'Show GPS Elevation' option from the Vista's 'Satellite' page menu. Quote
