+RichardMoore
Can someone tell me what the abbreviations in some of the posts mean? I think that I've figured out that lol means laugh-out-loud and tptb is the-powers-that-be, but every so often I see one that has me totally lost. Is there a decoder ring in a cereal box for these things? Or are you guys making them up as you go along just to drive me insane? If you are, you're too late!!! +Mopar
You might want to check out the FAQ on Markwell's Geocaching Page. Specifically, his section on Terminology. Tae-Kwon-Leap is not a path to a door, but a road leading forever towards the horizon. Quote Link to comment
+GrizzlyJohn
I have always liked the abbreviation TLA which stands for three letter acronym. But of course that is second to ETLA which is extended three letter acronym. And when I worked a help desk we had to give each call codes based on type of call, error type and result. The most often used one was the one that was spelled out with the letter i, the letter d, the number 10 and the letter t. We could use that right in front of the user and they could never figure out what an I-D-10-T error was. Quote Link to comment

We navigate via GPS, VOR, DME, ILS, ADF/NDB, and, when all that fails, TLAR. It stands for "That Looks About Right." Quote Link to comment
