+WalruZ
...we should not be throwing the baby out with the bathwater, as it were. Pirates buried treasure and left maps and captured millions of peoples imaginations over the years. My son has read Treasure Island, seen Pirates of the Carribean, and played all the Monkey Island games more than once. He loves pirates, even though I've explained to him that they were thieves and murderers. Recently the two of hid this cache and had a great time doing it. Pirates have a role in GeoCaching - just not them other pirates. Scoundrels they be! Yarrgh! Quote Link to comment
Jomarac5
I've always loved a good pirate story. ***** Quote Link to comment
BassoonPilot
I think it's a good thing that Jeremy "knows who the pirates are," because I think the only thing that has been accomplished has been to force them "off the radar scope." Some of them probably saw "the error of their ways," but others will surely now act with greater determination and malice, as suggested by the miscreant who started the recent "GeoStealing" thread. Personally, I couldn't decide which action was more repulsive: the activity suggested by the thread initiator or the repeated mocking of the initiator of the thread by "The Approverator." Thanks for going out of your way to incite people like the "GeoStealer." Quote Link to comment

Keystone
This is a thread about the positive images that pirates might evoke in our game, now that the "cache pirates" controversy has died down somewhat. Please remain on topic. If you have a complaint about a moderator's conduct in an unrelated thread, please raise it with Groundspeak. No problemo. Quote Link to comment
