Dan_Edwards
I guess mine is at least too, and I did not have to do any reasearch at all! Thanks Oregon A = A Quote Link to comment
Cacheola Crew
Well, using some previously posted "degrees of separation", I was able to link a cache we found today to Markwell (4 degrees of separation?) 1. Today, we found "It's Up To You" by Sea Dog, which was found by The Warner Family on November 9th. 2. The Warners found Valley Garden Park which was also found by Kodak's 4. 3. Kodaks'4 found Battle of Four Lakes which was found by Walkin Stick. 4. Walkin Stick found Square D, which was also found by Markwell. Eeyore and Shadow
I decided to follw my buddy Leprechaun's lead and meet markwell through my first find, it may not be the closest or easierst route but it was interesting. My first find way the "Crooked Cache" by Ice 'n Chance, whos first cache was "effigy" by laguz, who foud "Peek-a-boo!" Markwell's infmaous virtual cam cache. Which the cache page have a picture of old Calvin himslef. I miss that avatar. So i guess that puts me 4° seperate of Markwell. Eeyore It took a GPS to get me away from technology. ride_bent
I am still looking for a closer seperation but have one already... Cache Commando found my cache, Rest In Peace, and also found Critters which was found by Markwell. Blues Preacher and I and Markwell have also crossed paths many times too. When I was on vacation in May in Tennesse, I did several caches but missed one due to a lack of time. Naturally, Markwell on his vacation did the one I missed! +mrplug
Mr. Phrost found Markwell's bug "Wonder Woman" in January 2002. Mr. Phrost found my cache "Your Vision" in October 2002. cache on. Quote Link to comment
Jeepster
If you've posted a "no find" on a Markwell cache then you might be a redn... opps, that fits in another forum. Seriously, if you've posted a "no find" on a Markwell cache, then what is your degree of separation? You've got to understand that Markwell doesn't like to share his caches with folks in Illinois who live South of I80 ... he has been known to take them in on the weekends so we can't find them. I even caught him at it once on his new cache Liberal Arts. Jeepster - We did not inherit the land from our parents; we are borrowing it from our children. Quote Link to comment
Team Tecmage
The Travel Bug Method: Markwell released Geoffrey, Geomancers moved it, then SteveOr, then WalkinStick brought it to Iowa, where Tracy and I grabbed it! Cache Indirect Method: Tracy and I found these same caches as Markwell: Cameron Woods Fairy Cache Schoolhouse Cache Atomic Age * toss a few more in there as well. Another Method: We found In Plain Sight (also found by Markwell) by bspeng, bspeng found Cachiversary1 by Markwell How many degrees is that? Quote Link to comment
Mr. 0
Alright, this is what I found for myself, just now. I'm going to try to find a closer connection....but this is what I came up with for now. I found Hoop There It Is which was also found by Boundertom. Boundertom found Palm Sunday that was also found by The Lil Otter. The Lil Otter found Blarney Stone that was previously logged by Markwell. "So, see, we're practically brothers...." +ClayJar
So, if I Met Markwell,Cached with Markwell,Found a Markwell cache with Markwell, andRode in Markwell's car to the insidious Markwell cache,Can I count my Markwell number somewhere around 0.0175? Quote Link to comment
st_richardson
...can anyone come up with a first cache that a newbie could hypothetically find and still not be connected to Markwell? Closest physical cache to Markwell wins. Quote Link to comment
Markwell
A) It would most likely have to be a new cache (no finders) It would have to be placed by a newbie cacher. Don't bother looking at any caches within 50 miles of my house that have been placed since November 1 have not been placed by newbies. Have to go into Wisconsin or Indiana. Good luck! +GeoManhattan
The legendary Bruces found "Saw Wee Kee" which Markwell also found. Bruces found "Thomas Hart Benton" in Kansas City we also found it 2 months later. GeoManhattan.com Quote Link to comment
Mr. Snazz
Every time I see the title of this thread, I read it markwellington rather than markwellation. Then, for some weird reason, I get hungry. Quote Link to comment
W8TVI
I placed:Leaning Trees Trail that Jeepster found who also found: The Hall of Justice II by Markwell. That should make it a 2° doing it the right way. but if you go with how some of these people have been doing it just might be a 1° W8TVI GeoX Geocaching gear! Quote Link to comment
TheGertridgeExplorers
I don't know if I'm stubborn or stupid, but I had to find my degrees of Markwellation. Maybe it can go shorter than this but here goes: We found Bore View By HalVE1LV. He also hid Black Beauty which was found by mike greybeard. mike greybeard found Hemlock Natural Area by Grey Wolf and Aging Bear. This cache was also found by gnbrotz. gnbrotz found Old Stone House by North Country Trail Association. This cache was also found by The Lil Otter. The Lil Otter found Blarney Stone by Grandpa, also found by Genius Loci. Genius Loci found Putt Putt Geocaching also found by Markwell!!! So is that about 10 degrees? OK, now I can relax - this drove me nuts!! - Donna G. (Ironically, my degrees of separation to Kevin Bacon is 5) [This message was edited by DonnaG on December 07, 2002 at 04:34 PM.] Quote Link to comment
SherwoodForest
well, i have a markwell number of 2, because regoarrarr and I have both found the Rocky River Cache, and regoarrarr also found the Photographer X Travelling Cache, number through stationary caches? not sure if regoarrarr and markwell have found the same real cache... But on an even more depressing (?) note, my Rubbertoe seperation number is only a 1! Since the Toe and I have both found The Trolly Stops Here cache. Okay, did some more research, and it seems that my Markwell Number using stationary, non-travelling caches is also only 2. One of the caches I found while on vacation in Michigan -- As Near As It Gets was also found by the LinglerFamily. LinglerFamily also found Critters which was also found by Markwell. targetdrone
Old thread, but here we go. I found Grand Central Station which was found by blueyedkansan who also found The Worm Rides the Train which was also found by ~erik~. He and Markwell both found Pilcher's Pond. I think that makes it 3 degrees of Markwellation. "I can't find the longitude for the North Pole" Quote Link to comment
