+Red Barron
Is there any logic to how the waypoint identifiers (ie.GC7633) are assigned? Quote Link to comment
+CO Admin
Yes they are sequential. But even if you submit 2 in a row there may have been 15 other people submiting at the same time so the odds of getting two numbers together are small. +Red Barron
But I could not look at the identifier and tell for example that the cache is traditional or the location on the world, is that correct? Quote Link to comment
Swagger
That is correct. Think of it as a serial number for the cache. -- Pehmva! [sTATS IMAGE REMOVED BY OVERBEARING ADMINS] Random quote: [RANDOM QUOTE IMAGE REMOVED BY OVERBEARING ADMINS] Quote Link to comment
+ClayJar
Up through GCFFFF, the last four characters were the hexadecimal version of the cache ID. From GCG000 and up, the last four characters are a base-31 (digits: "0123456789ABCDEFGHJKMNPQRTVWXYZ") version of (cache ID + 411120). The 411120 offset makes ID 65536 (GCG000) come right after ID 65535 (GCFFFF).
