Swagger
Ok, while changing my .sig I thought about something. How many people think that complaints about bandwidth are really the primary motivation behind removing images from .sigs? Within just the past couple of weeks, a lot of cachers (myself included) began including their stats image from keenpeople.com in their .sig. Knowing how TPTB have a "thing" against any type of "competitive" aspect being included in the activity, who here (besides me) thinks that they (he) had keenpeople.com images in mind when the change was made? Conspiracy theory? Perhaps, but I think it's pretty likely. -- Pehmva! Jeremy Irish Groundspeak - The Language of Location So you're making it friendly for the newbies by alienating the people who have been here a while (and in many cases are paying customers). Great job. Why not just create a forum that can't be accessed by cachers who have been registered for longer than 3 or six months, disallow .sigs in that forum and assign one or two mods to keep an eye out for newbies that need handholding? Seems like it'd be a good all-around solution without taking away yet another feature that your current (often paying) customers used and appreciated. For the record, the only reason I'm still a paying member is for PQs. When I became a premium member, supporting the site was my primary motivation and PQs were secondary. I no longer wish to support what you're doing here because it seems that you're taking more things away than you're adding, but I can't get my drug (GPX files) without forking over the three bucks a month. I realize that the .sig image change affects a very small portion of the visitors to the site, but for those who read the forums and enjoyed adding/seeing/reading .sig images it's just another straw on the camel's back - a camel that's already pretty overburdened as it is. -- Pehmva!
