+seneca Posted September 13, 2003 Posted September 13, 2003 I always thought that a liberal, by definition is a "fence-sitter/moderate". (also, you left out a choice for "socialist") I have never in my life learned anything from any man who agreed with me. [This message was edited by seneca on September 13, 2003 at 09:22 AM.]

Please don't mix politics and geocaching and religion and sexual preferences and for crying out loud keep everything politically correct!!! From now on everyone is to be called person, people, human or humans, geocacher or geocachers. These last two may be shortened to just cacher(s). Was there a question? Can you please describe conservative or liberal? Planet

+briansnat Posted September 13, 2003 Posted September 13, 2003 Since conservative was the closest choice, I picked that one, but I'm more of a Libertarian. My mother-in-law, who is slightly to the left of Stalin, thinks I'm a right wing whacko. When she introduces me to her friends, she always adds "and he's a Republican", which often draws gasps of horror from her group and they look at me as if they just met Adolph Hitler. Funny! Personal responsibility and limited government...what a crazy concept! And almost as funny, my Buchanannite brother calles me a commie. Go figure. +BigKodiak Posted September 18, 2003 Posted September 18, 2003 Socialism hasn't worked in any country to date. If everyone was a ward of the state living on handouts, why would you work. If no one worked, the national GDP would be 0 (zero) and the counrtry therefore would crumble. Screw political correctness. It's a liberal design that keeps those it is supposed to protect from melting into AMERICAN culture. umc Posted September 18, 2003 Posted September 18, 2003 It is not my personal opinion that politics are off topic. There are lots of other threads that TPTB have closed because they have nothing to do with caching. I hinted at that in every post in this thread. It is an open forum sponsored by Groundspeak Inc. for discussing all aspects of Geocaching, Benchmark hunting, GPS Usage and Groundspeak related GPS Gaming. solohiker Posted September 18, 2003 Posted September 18, 2003 It is my opinion that you are missing something. It was a political decision to turn off SA which gave birth to geocaching. If discussing politics is expressly forbidden it should be included in the rules. It is not. +El Diablo Posted September 18, 2003 Posted September 18, 2003 Nope...I think I understand my friend. The spirit of the guidelines was to say what was allowed...not what wasn't.
