New Cache Buckets

GPS Junkie

Recommended Posts

After checking it out, I think the containers are quite ingenious - depending on the grade of plastic the rest of the container uses.

I guess my only problem is this part:

quote:
To log your find please go to www.gpsjunkie.com and click on your favorite geocaching website.
Not to rain on your parade of having people go to your site first, but the less clicks the better.

I personally would like it better if it said: "This Cache is Logged on the site: ____________" and we could fill in either Geocaching.com or some other site.

Then you could also mention "For more information on caching and this container, visit gpsjunkie.com "

HI,

I am offering a new way to stash your cache.

This heavy-duty plastic stash bucket is called the Click Cache Bucket.

The cover threads on like the cover on your peanut butter jar.

There is a weatherproof rubber o-ring in the cover that seats on the rim of the bucket for a water tight seal.

Please go to my web site http://www.gpsjunkie.com and then click on the link, "Click Cache Bucket" for all the details.

I would like your thoughts on this idea.

Plus I have education links and Secret Messages Coders and Decoders, and Waypoint converters. Take a look at all of the links.

Thank you.

You posted this four times already! I don't want to spoil your fun or ruin your sales or anything, but your posts are kind of on the commercial side, and I'm not sure that you are really doing anyone a service posting this as many times as you are doing. Frankly before I bought one of your buckets it might be nice if you actually hid or found some and then reported back with the results.

Isnt $10.00 a little steep for almost the same bucket I could buy here for $3.60 (without the artwork of course). A quick google search turns up a number of places selling M&M industries' life-latch buckets. Its a cute Idea you have, but I think I would rather roll my own.

for $10, I could buy two ammo cans and have gas money to stash the caches, or spray paint to get the caches to look the way I want them. Sorry, too rich for my blood. Agree with previous posts that this was a very commercial post and the artwork leaves a lot to be desired.

Jake Schoeder, looks just like the thing I'd want. I've never had a dollar store bucket with a cheap advertising sticker logo on it. And the sticker isn't even stuck on firmly, so I don't have to worry about it being plundered since it looks like trash. And that red clicky thing that would not even hold back a baby, let alone a bear during mating season once he sniffed all that viagra, it's just what I need. Maybe I should stash my ammo in it, kids always have trouble getting my steel ammo boxes open.

And I'd be glad to entrust my money for such an item, even when your domain is only a month old, Not to mention it's just a bunch of more advertising crap like your bucket. By the way, your other web sites reek of lame advertising too.

If that's considered preliminary artwork, I'd hate to see what the final product is, the whole thing plastered with 'GPS Junky' in various sizes and rotations? Maybe in the 'final' they can replace the GPS Junky advertisements with "Geocache" and an explanation of what it is in large print. Looking over the site further, I found no actual useful content on there other than a couple links to other sites explaining geocaching, and, of course, the Bucket Sales Mechanism. I see this post as nothing but a blatant commercial advertisement for an overpriced flimsy bucket that would break down fairly easily (at least in the climate around here) with a large advertisement for a commercial (It seems that the primary function of the web site is to sell something at a profit, that makes it commercial) web site on the side that would make a poor geocaching container. I don't mean to be too harsh, it's just that this is NOT the place for such things, at least take it into the GPS garage sale section, or better yet, Ebay.

After 'checking it out' I conclude that your bucket is nothing other than a bucket of doots. If I wanted a bucket of doots to make some money off of I would doot in a bucket and try selling it as a cache bucket myself. Thanks but no thanks.

Lets see, a bright white and blue bucket of unproven quality for $10 vs. an ammo box for under $4 that can be painted in any type of camo and is waterproof, animal proof? Hmmmm...I'll stick with the ammo boxes. Thanks anyway.

Put a double flip top lid on it, the bottom one with a hole in it, the top one solid, add disposable plastic liners, add a roll of paper to the side, and voila! A doot bucket. When your done you hang the bag o'doots from a tree for the next cacher to find. It might keep animals away from the cache so you can leave those fish filets in mustard sauce in the cache.

Now that I've said my piece, go advertise somewhere else.

Cache you later,

You know, we just got a training potty for our daughter, and as with everything I see anymore, I began evaluating it's potential as a humorous cache container. But then I figured I'd be inviting trouble if some wiseguy non-cacher found it.
