+Seth! Posted May 30, 2002 Posted May 30, 2002 Hey gang! Remember the Project Ape Geocaches? Many of them are achived now (6 out of 13 archived) but I'd like to see their pages. Would someone be so kind as post the cache ID number for the archived ones? Obviously I can find the active ones by doing a search. Thanks! Jeremy or Elias, if you read this, the one in Washington doesn't have the Project Ape icon. I'm losing sleep over that. Cheers, Seth! Quote
+Markwell Posted May 30, 2002 Posted May 30, 2002 I've got a whole page on my website devoted to Project APE. There's were actually 14 caches. Read my lengthy page to find out why your search came up short by one. Here's the names and you can do a keyword search. The bottom of my page also links all of them and shows a US map of the caches placed over here. Mission 1: Devil's Spoon, California, USA (archived) Mission 2: Club Suave, Oregon, USA (archived) Mission 5: Fork in the Canyon, California, USA (archived) Mission 6: Asian Arms, Japan (archived) Mission 8: Wattle's Edge, Australia (archived) Special Mission: PLANET OF THE APES Premiere!, New York (archived) Mission 3: Grahm's Link, New York, USA Mission 4: Southern Bowl, Brazil Mission 7: Crab Creek, Maryland, USA Mission 9: Tunnel of Light, Washington, USA Mission 10a: River Bearer, Georgia, USA Mission 10b: Meridian Snake, United Kingdom Mission 11: Tallow's Sand, New South Wales, Australia Mission 12: Blind Canal, Illinois, USA Markwell Chicago Geocachers Quote
+Seth! Posted May 30, 2002 Author Posted May 30, 2002 Markwell, your page is very helpful! As I mentioned in my post, a keyword search won't help with the ones that are archived but the links on your page do the trick. Splendid! Thanks, Seth! Quote
+infosponge Posted May 31, 2002 Posted May 31, 2002 Great info, Markwell! I did Number 7 in Maryland last week while up there on business...it's really deteriorated with nobody taking care of it. I did leave one of my special geo-tiles in there, but the rest of the contents are bordering on trash if I recall correctly. Quote
+Markwell Posted May 31, 2002 Posted May 31, 2002 Most of the links I found by going back to last summer's forums. For a while, these things had quite a few posts as everyone speculated where they were. The graphics I lifted from the Italian geocaching page and from the fake page ~Erik~'s friends did, placing an APE cache in his back yard. Nice little bit of humor. Markwell Chicago Geocachers Quote

LazyLeopard Posted May 31, 2002 Posted May 31, 2002 Mission 10b was missing last time I checked the hiding place. I was short of time, and I've been meaning to get back to it to see whether it's just been misplaced, or whether it has actually been removed. Purrs... LazyLeopard http://www.lazyleopard.org.uk Quote
