Guest bunkerdave
I want one of yours Markwell. When I get back to my office and its T1 connection, I am going to AudioGalaxy and see if I can't download every one of those. I actually have several of those pieces (that's what 'cultured' people call songs, is 'pieces" right?) on "Classical Thunder," one of my favorites. Perhaps I can make my own. Lest ye wonder - the FIRST song that came into my head when I saw this thread: "Wherever I May Roam" - Metallica I am only 30, after all. Another one: "I've Been Everywhere" - Johnny Cash (Bet you can't sing along with this one) [This message has been edited by bunkerdave (edited 25 January 2002).] Quote Link to comment

Guest JAMCC47
quote:Originally posted by nickgenes:Not to keep you hanging, JAMCC47, I did a quick web search and found the singer of your tune there. My first hunch was Willy Nelson (like "On the Road Again", part 2) but the real answer also made a lot of sense. One of his other songs, "Turn the Page", might also fit in with geocaching. Nick Well I can't say "Shame on the Moon" to you can I. Whats suprising is who wrote this one. I believe this could be a good idea for some caches come summer. I'll just have to make up some Irish Tapes and let them do the Jig down the Mountain, and from Glen to Glen. I just gave a new listen to Tasmin Archer's "Sleeping Satellite" -- I'm pretty sure she's singing about US space policy, how we didn't go further than the moon... Pretty heady stuff. Also, I think you're looking for Nick Heyward, the lead singer of Haircut 100. Guest SNIFTER
Not sure about "Children of the Sun" but I will try to find out. Billy Thorpe spent some years in the US and I didn't keep up with his music during that time. I used to go to a dance hall during the 60's and watch him perform. How about "Let the sun shine" from the musical Hair. Especially when it is pouring down and a new cache has just been listed. Quote Link to comment
Guest ttaylor181
You guys have done an excellent job collecting songs. You've already suggested the best ones, so in the spirit of thoroughly extending the genre, here's my humble offering... 500 Miles - Peter, Paul, and Mary Going Mobile - The Who (although The Seeker is much more appropriate) This Land Is Your Land - Woodie Guthrie Quote Link to comment

Guest travisl
This thread inspired me to get working on a Geocaching album of songs I've collected. One that fits perfectly, but that hasn't been mentioned, is ZZ Top's "Doubleback": "It's got me up and down, I been lost and found, Down in a deep dark hole. Looks like my luck has changed, I been rearranged And I'm coming out on a roll. Lookin' high and low, don't know where to go, I got to double back, my friend. The only way to find, what I left behind I got to double back again, double back again." Quote Link to comment

Were you ever fooled by laughters lure Only to find that they laughed in spite? Chorus: (as above) Did you ever finally find a place A soft warm bed in a room of flowers And when you finally laid down your face You found you slept for a hundred hours A hundred hours.
