taht is not counting my 315gps(120) batteries and cables(40)

Well, my first GPS was a 315, on sale at Meijer for $80.

I didn't include it previously because it's not the GPS I use anymore. It was stolen.

Garmin V Deluxe: $430

Sony Clie PEG-NX80V PDA: $450 on eBay

128MB Memory Stick to hold all those cache pages: $40

Also a Yellow eTrex: $106

Total: $1026. This is depressing... I'm a college student and really can't afford all this stuff... If you want to go further, I also bought a $500 dollar digital camera for taking pictures out on the trail, and a $400 video camera for taping events, etc... I've been to 5 events and only brought it to 1. Sadly, it's all worth it.

Wow, I wish I had never added that up.

The good news is this hobby is fairly inexpensive once you get all your gear, just gas to get places. Of course, I am in the process of trading my truck for a Ford Excursion so I will have enough room for all my gear and caching buddies. And let's not forget the money spent on hotel rooms and meals on caching specific trips, money spent on cache containers, or materials to build them, or stuff to put in caches, and oh yeah, batteries for days.
