mlastella
You can't really DRIVE by all of them, right?! I'm completely new at this. I found out about it in an article on page 14 of this month's "VIA" magazine. Quote Link to comment
+jeff35080
IMHO, it's a cache where you can basically spot the cache from the car. I did one today. It was a 1/1 cache. Even though it was quite easy, it did take me to an area I had never visited and I appreciate the cache owner placing the cache. +The Leprechauns
My personal definition is, if I can still see my car when I find the container or the subject of a virtual cache, it's a driveby. I've had exceptions, like looking down from on top of a mountain and saying "wow, I can see my car way down there!" x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x I was formerly employed by the Department of Redundancy Department, but I don't work there anymore. +Criminal
How about a drive up cache? http://fp1.centurytel.net/Criminal_Page/ Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
And here I thought they were Park N Bags. Which I've always thought of something that's a tenth of a mile or less from the road. A lot of them you are in and out in less than 5 minutes and that's only because of signing the log book.' Of course some of the better ones take awhile even if you can drive up close. Wherever you go there you are. Quote Link to comment
+bcrockcrawler, xstitcher, & BMXer
Did one today that we drove up to. Needed 4 wheel drive though, for about 2 miles in the snow, and once there it still took about 20 mins. to locate. Coolest drive by I've done to date. We live on a rock, ergo we rockcrawl....... +briansnat
There are ones you can literally drive by. I have this one that you can probably log at 65 mph (though it would help to have a spotter with you). But generally, I think most people consider drive by's to be caches that are within a few feet of a road or parking area.
