Multi-step caches -vs- raiding

I have another reason for creating multi-step caches.

We just found two caches in the Seattle area that have been raided. One of the caches was the enjoyable "Archie McPhee" cache that so many geocachers in this area start with.

One of the advantages of a multi-step cache is if the cache site gets raided, the first cache site (the hint to the final cache site) can be changed without changing the geocaching web site. If someone just happens to stumble on the final cache, another could be placed in the general area and the new directions updated at the first site.

I hate to see the Archie McPhee site lost, because the alien at the first site was so fun to find. I would love to see the final cache site updated and the little alien back in its place.

Anyone have any comments or suggestions? confused.gif
