+Team Shibby
Well it sure sounds like a good deal, I mean for $50 after rebate you can't go wrong. However, did you get a receipt to submit and will they honor it? Quote Link to comment
mattfman
It was www.flybuysales.com,except they also sell on auctions,I bought from auctions instead of from there site..They raised there price now.. its 160 dollars,so it will be like 110 dollars with rebate. The best part about my deal, was also THERE WAS NO SHIPPING FEE! ******************************************************* Did you say you want to go on ANOTHER geocacheing trip? ******************************************************* Quote Link to comment
mattfman
They will honor it,got a reciept,I asked upfront before I did buy it now on the auction. ******************************************************* Did you say you want to go on ANOTHER geocacheing trip? ******************************************************* Quote Link to comment
+Sissy-n-CR
Even at $160 that's cheaper than what I spent on my STMap and I got a good deal then! Thing is, I'm waiting for the SporTrak Color to come out. ~DROOL~ The small size and electronc compass [/i]and[/i] high res color display. ~wipes screen~ You get the idea I'm salivating over that new unit? It was supposed to be out by now, but... Add the $50 rebate, and you've got a nice deal! CR Quote Link to comment
2oldfarts (the rockhounders)
Do like the unit, are you having fun with it? If so, then it was a good buy. If you do not like the unit....free would have been to much. 1 Quote Link to comment

+trippy1976
Do you have to have a dated receipt for the rebate? I know Garmin won't give the rebate on their units for auction-bought items. Buyer beware. -------- trippy1976 - Team KKF2A Saving geocaches - one golf ball at a time. Quote Link to comment

Matt, when did you order your GPS and when did you get it? I looked for the vendor and the auctions you mentioned, didn't find an exact match. I did find one vendor that looked like the one you found with some past auctions of SporTrak Pro at great prices... BUT -- The auction listings read like an article entitled How To Spot An eBay Scam. AND -- There are no current auctions by that seller. AND -- It looks like eBay has suspended the vendor's account/store. Either I found the wrong vendor, or there's more to the story here. --- LDR. +Og's outfit
Sounds to me like you got yourself stolen merchandise! Oh well, you got a great deal. I bought the same unit in March from REI, it was $270 minus my REI dividend and 10% off for using my dividend before March 30. All together I paid around $190.00. And I thought I got a good deal! WAY TO GO! And welcome to the dark side! Prophetically Challenged Quote Link to comment
+Team Shibby
Well all in all I believe you got a good deal. If by chance the unit is stolen, you will find out when you register it. I do believe you will have to jump through hoops to get the rebate, or it will take up to 6 months. I have been told Magellan uses MyRebate.com and they are THE worst company to deal with for rebates. You stated that you like to brag about your good deal, make sure you keep us posted Quote Link to comment

swanlakers
Folks, read the FAQ: http://www.flybuymatrix.com/FlyBuyMatrix/faq.htm Looks like a classic pyramid scheme, you get your stuff after others lower in the chain sign up. Swanlakers Quote Link to comment

Yup, avoid this company like the plague. It's weird that when I first looked at the site, it seemed like they were selling the actual products at discounted prices, but those prices are now gone and this yucky pyramid scheme is in place instead. Don't expect this company to last long. The site itself is pretty nicely done, for what that's worth. It certainly gives some credibility to the scheme. How does it work? So, let's say you were #10 on the matrix list for the Sportrak Pro, which has a Matrix Length of 10. By you getting on the list, that means the #1 person now gets their product shipped to them and flybuymatrix has collected $350. For you to get your product, 90 more people will have to sign only that list. For the 100th person on the list, 900 more people would have to sign up before they get theirs. Get the picture? Again, I stress that you should not waste your money here... --Marky "All of us get lost in the darkness, dreamers learn to steer with a backlit GPSr" Quote Link to comment
+Team GPSaxophone
Here is why it is not a pyramid: quote: We make our money off the sale of e-books. Your matrix entry is a free gift This 'Matrix Line' by itself would be a pyramid scheme. Using the name 'FlyBuy...' is a spin on 'FlyByNight'(e.g. SCAM), but who knows why they chose it. If you're happy with the product you purchased and received, great. I hope you also get you 'Free Gift' when your matrix line cycles. Personally, I'd stay away from this 'suspicious looking' company. +Team GPSaxophone
Oops, your free gift WAS the GPS...got it. I examined the site a bit more, but I couldn't find any description of what each E-book package contained. Quote Link to comment
