Team Dragon
Why not pull up "District of Columbia" as the state? Most will be virtual though because of the NPS objection to caches. Quote Link to comment
DisQuoi
If you're going to be in the area overnight and plan on doing any early morning caching, I recommend picking a couple of caches that lie along the Potomac River (Maryland or Virginia, you decide). You'll be rewarded with some very beautiful scenery that many locals have never seen. You will have to proint them out yourself, though. Carderock by sandsd (Ihaven't seen this one yet) Ripley's Riverbend Cache by Ripley the Cairn Terrier Poplar Town by Team Baccus Unfortunatly, there are some excellent ones that have been confiscated by the Park Service. +bigcall
Currently, there is only one cache in DC that is not a virtual of some sort or another (Duck Trial). While there are quite a few in the DC/MD/VA area perhaps the most scenic are/were along the Potomac. I second Disquoi's choices (although Carderock has gone virtual as well) and might add a few that are close by and would offer the best feel for the area: Arlington Book cache Arlington Movie cache Be Prepared II (if you have some time) Scott's Run There are quite a few other great caches in the area but they may not be quite as scenic or involve greater traveling to hit. My suggestion is to focus on the virtual caches around the Mall (which will be quite a handful)and hit up some of the others to get away from the masses. Enjoy your visit. -Bigcall Way back in the days when the grass was still green and the pond was still wet and the clouds were still clean, and the song of the Swomee-Swans rang out in space... one morning, I came to this glorious place.
