+sept1c_tank
These avatar threads (this contest, "Marky's Avatar Gallery" and "Whose avatar is your favorite") are great. Most avatars are directly related to (and derived from) the users screen name. For some interesting reading on how each user's name came about, read this thread. ==============="If it feels good...do it"================ **(the other 9 out of 10 voices in my head say: "Don't do it.")** . +Marky
After the contest is over, I plan on opening up the Avatar Gallery to the 'public' and having it be somewhat self service (read: I am too lazy to keep it up to date myself). sept1c_tank made a good suggestion for the gallery: a place to put comments about your avatar and your caching name. --Marky "All of us get lost in the darkness, dreamers learn to steer with a backlit GPSr" Quote Link to comment

Also I believe people kept in mind what they thought I could carve and what would look good on a hiking staff. +Marky
I was just looking at Dinoprophet's avatar, and it made me think of some walking sticks I just saw at Bonfante Gardens (a very local theme park) last night. These sticks had the head of various animals as the 'handle' of the walking stick. They were more of walking cane length than walking staff length.
