+TeamK-9
That must have taken an incredibly long time to research and type up. But it's all the better. +BeachBuddies
Ok, here's a posted HTML version: Categorized Locationless Caches I'm using the various icons to track the ones I've done, or may do someday, etc. So just ignore them. If there's enough interest, I'll post a "clean" version with just the empty box icons so you can print it out and check off the ones you've done. If not, you can always cut & paste and make your own page -BeachBuddies Quote Link to comment
+JMBella
C'mon. You couldn't put them in alphabetical order. Just Kidding. This is quite a job you've done here. Thanks. +woof n lulu
There is a list of all locationless caches in alphebetical order in the advanced search...its already highlighted and you just click on it...it is not however broken down like this list. Thanks for your hard work...this helps enormously... Quote Link to comment
+tally-2
Great job! We hit a few today, being a bit on the lazy side because we were both a little sore from the last cache we did yesterday (it was NOT fun tromping through weeds taller than me.... some WITH thorns..... getting your feet and legs tangled up.... for a half mile or more). We didn't want to waste a day, so we did one virtual, and several locationless caches ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bob - can ya beer me now? Sandy - bite me Quote Link to comment

+The Wombles
Love it, thanks. Certainly beats wading through lists on my pocket query. Even includes mine Dave Founder member of GAGB Quote Link to comment

+Geofool
Nice List! I'm not really much into doing locationlees caches. I've only done two so far. Looking at your list is making me think about doing a few more. Good Job! Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Quote Link to comment
+Bill D (wwh)
That's really good! Just one small point. When you've put a country name in brackets, I assume you mean it's only available in that country. If so, then I'd just like to point out that 'Church Tower view' and 'Berlin Wall' are not limited to specific countries. Thanks for the categorization - I haven't done many locationless caches, but do intend to do more, and wading through that long alphabetical list on the search results is a pain. Often I can remember what a particular locationless is about, but can't remember its name. Bill ------------------------------- "Ah, take the Cache and let the Credit go..." It's a good and usefull overview! Additionally to this thread: I wrote a tool (LocLess2Loc) to generate a loc-file with all coords of Locationless Caches Logs. This loc-file can be used with your favorite mapping software to show the locations. This makes it easier to check if the location you want to log is not already logged by somebody else. There is also a very good site where you can upload the loc-file directly to get an overview map: GPS Visualizer Or you can use CacheMaps to generate maps for you. LocLess2Loc is also integrated in CacheMaps. You can find LocLess2Loc here in my download area. BigBird Quote Link to comment

I did notice on the Lewis & Clark Trail page, that they had included a nice map of everyone's logs. It's especially interesting since it effectively marks most of the trail. quote:Originally posted by wook & luluI agree you about restarting locationless caches... I have mixed feelings about these. I think some of them are terrific, and others are pretty lame (I won't say which) I can understand why GC.com is reluctant to support them. I think if they ever do come back, you would need a good process for approving them. Something that involved more than one approver. Maybe even some sort of poll where you have to get a pretty large number of Yes votes. Also, I think it would be good to limit the number of Locationless caches any one user is allowed to post. Maybe you could post no more than the number of real (i.e., traditional) caches you have hidden. -BeachBuddies Quote Link to comment

+georgeandmary
Why does "lovers' leap" fall under towns and citys? george "No one goes to The Valley of the Dead. That's why it's called The Valley of the Dead." Quote Link to comment
+BeachBuddies
quote:Why does "lovers' leap" fall under towns and citys? Hmmm... no good reason I can recall. The whole process is a bit subjective I guess because the caches in the Towns and Cities section mostly involved finding places with particular names (Bridge-town, Z-town, etc), so it sort of seemed to fit (since the idea with that one is to find a place named Lover's Leap). Maybe I should rename that section something more generic? Or it could go in the Venues and Points of Interest section. But I'd like to keep each section under 10 entries or so, if possible. That one should probably be split into 2 sections anyway. Maybe the Regional Point of Interest section? That seems like a pretty good fit, but it's not like the other caches in that section. And the Interesting Sightings is just a catch-all section too.. it would be nice to break that one up. Thoughts, anyone? -BB Quote Link to comment

ChiefPig
Hehe...you are right! Don't know how I missed that one It might be better to put it under Art, Sculpture, and Cultural Icons but does not really matter. I also just wanted to bump your thread cause it is pretty cool! Thanks to your list, I just bagged 3 today! I don't know why locationless has been banned. I had so much fun trying to look for them and learned a bit about history as well. It is a nice change to TNLNSL TFTH kinda caches. They should at least allow the historical ones like the One Room Schoolhouse that I did today...even researching old train depots was pretty cool too.
